May Profile of a Goddess: Boann-Goddess of Water

Boann: Goddess of Water

Translation: She of the White Cow

Religion: Celtic, approximately 12th century

AKA: Boand, Boannan, Buan

AKA in other mythologies: Approximately 46 water goddesses correspond to Boann, ranging from Nyai Loro Kidul (Javanese) to Atanea (Polynesian). Half of them appear in only four traditions-10 Celtic (Abnoba, Adsullata, Ancamna, Boann, Clota, Danu, Nantosuelta, Sequana, Nabia, Tamesis) , five Inuit (Arnakuagsak, Arnapkapfaaluk, Aulanerk, Nerrivik, Sedna), five Greek (Ceto, Harpina, Praxithea, Leucothea, Naiad) and four Aztec (Atlacamani, Atlatonin, Chalchiuhtlicue, Huixtocihuatl). While these goddesses represent different aspects of water such as rivers, oceans, lakes, hot springs, rain, wells, creative and destructive aspects of water, the womb, birthing, and so on, they are all one element. Why do these particular mythologies have so many goddesses associated with water?

Symbolism: A white cow. (Cows are sacred to Celts and the color 'white' is associated with illumination.) Hazelnuts, salmon and water all represent wisdom.

Mythology and interpretation: Long ago, in the time of the Tuatha de Danaan, there existed a sacred well, named Segais, which was the source of wisdom. The well stood hidden in the shade of nine hazelnut trees, its magical waters inhabited by salmon who ate of the nuts as they fell into the water, providing them with the knowledge of the universe. The keeper of this well was Nechtan, god of water. Because this was a sacred place, only he and his three cupbearers were allowed to approach the well. They were the guardians who kept anyone from entering these sacred grounds and possibly obtaining knowledge no mortal or other god should understand.

But curious Boann, the goddess wife of Nechtan, challenged this law by approaching the well to partake of its wisdom. She walked counter-clockwise around the well, causing the waters to rise up and rush after her in response to the violation of this sacred place. The raging waters chased her through the land toward the ocean. As Boann was swept along, she lost an arm, a leg, an eye and ultimately her life to the churning waters that consumed her. At once the water became Boann, Boann became the water, and their merging created the river Boyne. Boann realized her quest for knowledge and she was from that moment on universal wisdom, inspiration to poets.

Boann's thirst for knowledge was her downfall because she lost her life, but ultimately it was her (and our) blessing because she received, and thereafter provided, illumination. Her story is reminiscent of the biblical Eve who rebelled against God's word in her quest for knowledge.

Disregard for the law exacts a great price; Eve was expelled from the garden, and Boann suffers significant losses as she tumbles in the raging waters. She essentially loses half her body (an arm, a leg and an eye), a symbolic image suggesting that she is half of this world, half of the other. Is there a moment where nature and divine being merge, each giving up half in order to accept the other? This sentiment runs deeply in Celtic belief; that the land, or more precisely, the genius loci (spirit of the place) and its people are one and the same, much as in Australian aboriginal belief; there is no separating the two.

The term Tuatha de Danaan (where Boann is), means "land" and also "people." The people of this land were considered a divine race of poets, seers, and warriors incarnated in this world to ready the earth and its inhabitants for an awakening. They were called the "Salmon of Wisdom;" those who had been exposed to the sacred salmon in Segais well and who then beheld the wisdom of the universe. Boann is of this race; and as goddess of water, what other fate would be hers but to completely enter the spiritual realm of the Tuatha de Danaan and reach us through water so that she may inspire us? In doing so, she embodies all the purposes of this sacred people/place. She becomes the vessel where we may swim and absorb all that she has to offer: awakening of the mind, inspiration, illumination, courage, creative power, knowledge, poetry, wisdom.

Meditation: Goddess Boann is here to invoke creative inspiration and to give you courage to go beyond what is comfortable in order to gain knowledge. Go to her when you need to access this energy. Remember that Boann does not borrow illumination from some outside source, rather, she brings what you already have within yourself to light. The best atmosphere to meditate on Boann is near a stream or river. Find a peaceful, comfortable spot close to the bank where you may be alone and without distraction. As you sit with eyes closed, inhale deeply and smell the breeze that follows the water's current, allowing Boann's breath to flow into your body and become part of you. Imagine her swimming like a water nymph through your external and internal rivers. See her darting in and out of light and shadow, attaching to the greater aspects of both and showing all to you. Hear her flowing toward you, through you, past you. Boann enters you through all senses and flows in the currents of your body, awakening the creative powers that reside there.

If you are unable to access a stream or river, you may supplement your meditation by listening to Boann's Clan (a musical group) which offers an entire album dedicated to Boann's story called "Dance of the Water Gods." You may listen to/purchase it through iTunes.com or Rhapsody.com. The following songs in particular may inspire you: Morning Mist on the Boyne, Ebb and Flow, Whitewater, Death of a Goddess, and Song of Boann.

Sullis- The Celtic Goddess of Healing Empowerment

Sulis in the Celtic mysteries was a great healer, people gathered at the waters of her shrines to commune with the Goddess, and take the waters to receive a cure for their ailment.

Goddess Sullis Will Help You With:

• Nourishment
• Healing for Reumathism, Gout
• Fertility
• Child Bearing
• Breast Feading
• Wisdom
• Find Lost Objects
• Catching thieves
• Justice

British Mother Goddess of spring water, especially the thermal spring waters, which were thought to be nourishing and life giving, and Goddess of The Spirit and Craft of Medicine, and was particularly associated with the Healing Waters of Bath, and can be found on our web-site on the City of Bath.

The name ‘Sulis' in the ancient Celtic religious beliefs and practises is thought to be a derivative of Sul or Sulla from the Old Irish Celtic Siul or eye, or ‘Sulis' in Gallo-Brittonic for ‘Orifice' or ‘Gap' through which the healing waters ran.

However the Proto-Celtic language as collated by The University of Wales suggests that the name is likely to be ultimately derived from the Proto-Celtic ‘Su-lijis meaning ‘Good Flooding One', and was suggested this may have been interpreted as 'Beneficial Water-Flow.

A string of kindness: 30 kidneys, 60 lives

A string of kindness: 30 kidneys, 60 lives

Cynthia Goff, a courier, waits at the Los Angeles International Airport with the kidney donated by Sherry Gluchowski before boarding a flight to Chicago, where the kidney’s recipient awaits. The recipient, Donald Terry Jr., had received a diagnosis of diabetes-related renal disease in his mid-40s. “It was like being sentenced to prison,” Terry recalled, “like I had done something wrong in my life and this was the outcome.”

Rick Ruzzamenti of Riverside, Calif., donated a kidney to a stranger, expecting nothing in return. The act led to the longest chain of kidney transplants ever constructed.

RIVERSIDE, Calif. — Rick Ruzzamenti admits to being a tad impulsive. He traded his Catholicism for Buddhism in a revelatory flash. He married a Vietnamese woman he had only just met.

And then a year ago, he decided in an instant to donate his left kidney to a stranger.

In February 2011, the desk clerk at Ruzzamenti’s yoga studio told him she had recently donated a kidney to an ailing friend.

Ruzzamenti, 44, had never even donated blood, but the story so captivated him that two days later he placed a call to Riverside Community Hospital to ask how he might do the same thing.

Halfway across the country, in Joliet, Ill., Donald Terry Jr. needed a kidney in the worst way. Since receiving a diagnosis of diabetes-related renal disease in his mid-40s, he had endured the burning and bloating and dismal tedium of dialysis for nearly a year.

“It was like being sentenced to prison,” Terry recalled, “like I had done something wrong in my life and this was the outcome.”

As a dawn chill broke over Chicago on Dec. 20, Terry received a kidney in a transplant at Loyola University Medical Center. He did not get it from Ruzzamenti, at least not directly, but the two men will forever share a connection: They were the first and last patients in the longest chain of kidney transplants ever constructed, linking 30 people who were willing to give up an organ with 30 who might have died without one.

What made the domino chain of 60 operations possible was the willingness of a good Samaritan, Ruzzamenti, to give the initial kidney, expecting nothing in return. Its momentum was then fueled by a mix of selflessness and self-interest among donors who gave a kidney to a stranger after learning they could not donate to a loved one because of incompatible blood types or antibodies. Their loved ones, in turn, were offered compatible kidneys as part of the exchange.

Coordination and innovation

Chain 124, as it was labeled by the nonprofit National Kidney Registry, required lockstep coordination over four months among 17 hospitals in 11 states. It was born of innovations in computer matching, surgical technique and organ shipping, as well as the determination of a Long Island, N.Y., businessman named Garet Hil.

The chain began with an algorithm and an altruist. Over the months it fractured time and again, suspending the fates of those down the line until Hil could repair the breach. Eventually, he succeeded in finding needle-in-a-haystack matches for patients whose antibodies would have caused them to reject organs from most donors.

Despite an intensely bitter breakup, a Michigan man agreed to donate a kidney for his former girlfriend for the sake of their 2-year-old daughter. A woman from Toronto donated for her fifth cousin from Brooklyn, N.Y., after meeting him by chance in Italy and then staying in touch mostly by text messages.

Children donated for parents, husbands for wives, sisters for brothers. A 26-year-old student from Texas gave a kidney for a 44-year-old uncle in California whom he rarely saw. In San Francisco, a 62-year-old survivor of Stage 4 Hodgkin’s lymphoma donated for her son-in-law.
On Aug. 15, Ruzzamenti’s kidney flew east on a Continental red-eye from Los Angeles to Newark, N.J., and was rushed to Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, N.J. There it was stitched into the abdomen of a 66-year-old man.

Passing it on

The man’s niece, a 34-year-old nurse, had wanted to give him her kidney, but her Type A blood clashed with his Type O. So in exchange for Ruzzamenti’s gift, she agreed to have her kidney shipped to the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison for Brooke R. Kitzman’s transplant. It was Kitzman’s former boyfriend, David Madosh, who agreed to donate a kidney on her behalf despite their acrimonious split.

On and on the chain extended, with kidneys flying from coast to coast, iced down in cardboard boxes equipped with GPS devices and stowed on commercial aircraft.

In a system built on trust, one leap of faith followed another. The most worrisome risk was that donors would renege once their loved ones received kidneys.

After John A. Clark of Sarasota, Fla., got a transplant on Sept. 28 at Tampa General Hospital, his wife, Rebecca, faced a 68-day wait before it was her turn to keep the chain going. Clark said it crossed her mind to back out, but that she swatted away the temptation.

“I believe in karma,” Clark said, “and that would have been some really bad karma. There was somebody out there who needed my kidney.”

Many of the 400,000 Americans who are tethered to dialysis dream of a transplant as their pathway back to normal. While about 90,000 people are lined up for kidneys, fewer than 17,000 receive one each year, and about 4,500 die waiting, according to the United Network for Organ Sharing, which maintains the wait list for the government.

Only a third of transplanted kidneys come from living donors, but they are coveted because they typically last longer than cadaver kidneys.

A reason there are not more live kidney donations, however, is that about a third of transplant candidates with a willing donor find that they are immunologically incompatible.

Domino chains, which were first attempted in 2005 at Johns Hopkins, seek to increase the number of people who can be helped by living donors. In 2010, chains and other forms of paired exchanges resulted in 429 transplants.

National registry

Garet Hil and his wife, Jan, may never fully recover from the snowy night in February 2007 when they took their 10-year-old daughter in with flu symptoms and emerged with a shocking diagnosis of nephrophthisis, a genetic kidney-wasting disease.

Because Hil and his daughter shared the same blood type, he assumed he would be able to give her one of his kidneys. But two days before surgery, doctors canceled the operations after discovering that his daughter had developed antibodies that would most likely cause rejection.

Fortunately, one of Hil’s nephews then was tested and was able to donate.

After the successful transplant, Hil, a veteran business executive, could not shake his frustration that a more effective registry for paired kidney donation did not exist. “The exchange systems out there weren’t industrial strength,” he said.

By the end of 2007, the Hils had formed the National Kidney Registry and rented office space in an old clapboard house in Babylon, N.Y. The couple invested about $300,000 to start it, and Garet Hil, who is now 49, ran the registry without a salary.

Hil marketed his registry to hospitals with PowerPoints and passion. The transplant world initially regarded him as an interloper. But he has now persuaded 58 of the country’s 236 kidney transplant centers, including many of the largest, to feed his database with information about pairs of transplant candidates and their incompatible donors.

In 2007, a transplant surgeon at the University of Toledo Medical Center, Dr. Michael A. Rees, had a forehead-slapping insight. If an exchange began with a good Samaritan who donated to a stranger, and if the operations did not have to be simultaneous, a chain could theoretically keep growing, limited only by the pool of available donors and recipients. Rees reported in 2009 that he had strung together a chain of 10 transplants.

Hil seized on the idea and set out to build an algorithm that would enable even more transplants.

Nowadays, Hil’s pool typically consists of 200 to 350 donor-recipient pairs. That is enough to generate roughly a googol — 10 to the 100th power — of possible chains of up to 20 transplants if all of the pairs are compatible, said Rich Marta, the registry’s senior software designer.

There are several registries like Hil’s, each with a distinct approach. Largely unregulated by government, they invite sensitive questions about oversight and ethics, including how kidneys are allocated. A number of medical societies are convening in March to seek consensus on that and other issues related to paired exchanges.

Chain 124’s risks

Long transplant chains save more lives than short chains. But they come with trade-offs because the longer they grow, the higher the risk that a donor will renege or that a link will break for other reasons.

The dependency of each link on the others kept patients on edge. “Things can happen,” Candice Ryan fretted a few days before her Dec. 5 transplant at Massachusetts General Hospital. “You just pray that everything goes well. I can’t relax until I’m asleep and on the table.”

Until recently, hospitals regularly turned away good Samaritan donors on the working assumption that they were unstable. That has changed somewhat with experience. But when Rick Ruzzamenti showed up at Riverside Community Hospital asking to give a kidney to anyone in need, he still underwent rounds of psychological screening as well as medical tests.

The doctors and social workers did not know what to make of Ruzzamenti at first. He had a flat affect and an arid wit, and did not open up right away. As the hospital’s transplant coordinator, Shannon White, pressed him about his motivations and expectations, he explained that his decision seemed rather obvious.

“People think it’s so odd that I’m donating a kidney,” Ruzzamenti told her. “I think it’s so odd that they think it’s so odd.”

The hospital wanted to make sure that he was not expecting glory, or even gratitude. Ruzzamenti stressed that no one should mistake him for a saint.

By Dec. 19, Chain 124 hurtled toward its conclusion with a final flurry of procedures at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles. Between dawn and dusk, three kidneys were removed and three were transplanted in neighboring operating rooms. One flew in from San Francisco. The last took off for O’Hare.

At the end of the cluster were Keith Zimmerman, 53, a bearish, good-humored man with a billy-goat’s beard, and his older sister, Sherry Gluchowski, 59. She had recently moved from California to Texas but returned to donate her kidney.

Gluchowski’s kidney went to Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago to be transplanted into Terry, the last in the chain.

Chain 124 ended at Loyola because Hil had arranged the final kidney to go to a hospital that had produced a good Samaritan donor to start a chain in the past, thus closing a loop. Dr. John Milner, a transplant surgeon at Loyola, said he then selected Terry to receive the kidney because he was the best immunological match on the hospital’s wait list.

When Milner called with the news in early December, Terry was floored at his remarkable good fortune.

As it sank in that his would be the last of 30 interconnected transplants, Terry began to feel guilty that he would be ending the chain. “Is it going to continue?” he asked Milner. “I don’t want to be the reason to stop anything.”

“No, no, no,” the doctor reassured him. “This chain ends, but another one begins.”

Preparing for Death: The Final Days of Death Row Inmate Jaturun "Jay" Siripongs

An interview with... Ajahn Pasanno

"You've got to get rid of me . . . then you have to let go of yourself."

Jaturun "Jay" Siripongs, a native of Thailand, was convicted in 1983 for the murders of Garden Grove market owner Pakawan "Pat" Watta-naporn and store clerk Quach Nguyen. While Siripongs admitted to involvement in the robbery, he denied having committed the murders. Yet he refused to name his accomplice and was convicted and sentenced to death.

Six days before Jay Siripongs was to be executed, his friend, attorney Kendall Goh contacted Abhayagiri Monastery seeking a Buddhist spiritual advisor. Two days later, Abhayagiri Co-abbot Ajahn Pasanno expeditiously received security clearance to enter San Quentin Prison and spent three extraordinary days with Jay Siripongs, the last three days of Siripongs life. Jay Siripongs died by lethal injection on February 9, 1999.

There were many reports that Siripongs went through a remarkable spiritual transformation while in prison. As a youth, Siripongs had taken temporary Buddhist monastic ordination in Thailand, a common Thai cultural practice. While in prison, he drew upon the meditation training he had received during his ordination and practiced consistently. Guards and inmates alike recognized that he lived his life at San Quentin peacefully. Several guards supported the clemency appeal for Siripongs, some openly. Even former San Quentin Warden Daniel B. Vasquez supported a plea for commutation of Siripongs sentence to life imprisonment.

Kathryn Guta and Dennis Crean spoke with Ajahn Pasanno in May 1999.

Fearless Mountain: How did you come to be called in as Jay Siripongs, spiritual counselor?
Ajahn Pasanno: The first time Jay expected to be executed was November 17, 1998. At that time, he was accompanied by a Christian minister, a woman who had attended several other executions at San Quentin. Although Jay liked the minister very much and had known her for years, there was a dynamic between them that increased his anxiety. In November, in the final hours before his scheduled death, the two talked incessantly, and Jay was distracted from composing his mind. Jay had had a clear sense of what he needed to do in order to prepare for death, but he did not do it in November. Then, at the last moment, a federal court granted a stay, and Jay was not executed for another three months. He was very fortunate that this first execution had been stayed. His situation and reactions became clear to him. He wanted to make his death as peaceful as possible, and he knew he had to do the inner work to make it so.

For the second execution date, Jay was determined to go to his execution alone so that he could try to be calm and collected in his last hours. His friend Kendall Goh was concerned about his lack of spiritual support and offered to find a Buddhist advisor. It was apparently not easy for Jay to ask for a different spiritual advisor; he encountered difficulties both from San Quentin and others, and he was cautious. I thought that his caution was reasonable as clearly the last thing he needed at that stage was some pious lecture from a monk. However, immediately after we met we connected, and he was happy to have me there.

FM: How did it feel to serve as a spiritual counselor to a condemned man?

AP: At first, I felt happy to help. Then I thought, I'm going into a hell realm, and there was a certain amount of trepidation. There were gates, chains, a metal detector and guards.

Then there was a second metal detector, guards to stamp my hand after I'd cleared it, then more gates and guards. Yet there were also many conflicting images. I heard a guard call children visitors by their names as if he knew them.

When I saw Jay, he was not like others I have been with who are approaching their deaths. Jay was young and healthy, in control of his faculties. He was sharp, intelligent and talented. It was clear he had lived the last years of his life skillfully. Although he was waist-chained, he remained dignified. He was gracious and hugged his visitors. The whole situation took on a surreal quality. Everything appeared normal, but at midnight on Monday this human being would die, he would be executed.

FM: Was there any tension in the air considering that Jay would soon be put to death?

_____________________________________________________

Taking Refuge, seeing the Buddha, Dhamma and Sangha as enlightened knowing,
truth and the embodiment of goodness. Jay was so happy that his friends
could hear Dhamma and that he could share this with them.

_____________________________________________________

AP: Not really. The atmosphere was relaxed and not gloomy. Sometimes we got down to the nitty gritty of the mind. Other times we joked and laughed. On the first day especially, Jay was a very gracious host. Prior to my arrival he had set up a chair for me on one side of a table and for his friends on the other side. He had instructed them very strictly on how to behave in the presence of a monk, and he had planned to offer a meal. He said it was the first time he had been able to feed a monk in twenty years. In response to questions from his friends, I talked about the Buddhist theory of awakening using the lotus flower metaphor. I also talked quite a bit about the meaning of Taking Refuge, seeing the Buddha, Dhamma and Sangha as enlightened knowing, truth and the embodiment of goodness. Jay was so happy that his friends could hear Dhamma and that he could share this with them.

Yet I felt very concerned that Jay look after the quality of his own mind and not let people distract him due to their own traumas about his imminent death. Jay recognized the dynamic that was going on around him; he was certainly not trying to maintain social contact because of agitation or restlessness. Still, he realized that he had to take responsibility for his own stability. Although he gave himself completely to his friends during the visiting hours, he meditated many of the other hours of the day beginning when he awoke at two or three oh clock in the morning.

During the days before his death, I pushed Jay into not becoming distracted. He had a lot of visitors. I told him it's best not to get too caught up with all these people. Kendall had told me when I first came that Jay was doing fine, that it was the rest of them who were falling apart. It was very obvious that Jay had touched the lives of many people, and they gathered around him before his death. His sister, Triya, was there. Some of his friends considered him their spiritual teacher. Many of his friends were lawyers, other friends were born-again Christians. So there were many different needs, and Jay, being kind-hearted and generous, tried to fulfill them all.

Jaturun "Jay" Siripongs, Self-Portrait

FM:Is it true that Jay was also an accomplished artist?

AP: Yes. Jay showed me his portfolio. He had become skilled in many different media and was obviously talented. He also gave away most of his art (over 600 pieces) to acquaintances and friends over the years. Jay used art to express his process of growing and changing. He often used butterflies as a symbol of his metamorphosis. At some time during his incarceration, he had realized that his life would end in prison. He thought, I can't continue hating myself or others.

During the last eight years, Jay underwent a deep transformation and came to a real understanding of himself. He told me that he had been in prison for a long time and couldn't say it was a bad thing. He felt he had been able to grow in prison in a way that would not have been possible had he not been in such difficult and extreme circumstances. He learned to reflect deeply on what would create well-being and clarity in his mind. The closer he got to the execution, the more he learned about what would obstruct the mind from growth and peace. He turned himself to the process of applying the mind to truth.

FM: And this included taking up Buddhist meditation?

AP: That's right. Jay had learned how to meditate when he was a monk in Thailand many years earlier. While in the monastery, he had had a very clear vision of light while meditating, but when he had tried to replicate the experience, it didn't come back.

FM:That sounds like the common meditation experience of grasping after what is pleasant.

AP: Yes. I teased him about that. Jay then reported that three weeks earlier the light had come back. This was very encouraging to me. Since Jay was a visual artist, I realized that he could use the vision of light as an anchor at the moment of his death. I led him in guided meditations centering on the breath and light. Since his breath would only be there until the injection took effect, I told Jay that there would come a time to let the breath go and focus instead on the image of light.

FM: How else were you able to help Jay with his inner work? Was he afraid of death?

AP: The first night we talked on the phone, I had asked Jay, "What's your mental state." "I'm at peace," he said. "I've accepted what will happen. But I still have things I want to know."

Growing up in Thailand, Jay believed in rebirth. He joked that he wanted his ashes scattered in the sea so that they might be eaten by fish and then the fish by humans. In this way, he could quickly return to the human realm to continue his work. He knew that human birth was the place where learning was possible, a place to understand pain and joy, good and evil, right and wrong. Growth and understanding were the results of choices one made. Jay had made some very bad choices over the years, but he had also made some good ones. He felt he had learned some real lessons in this lifetime and was determined to stay on the path of Dhamma in the next life.

FM: Did you ever to talk to Jay about those bad choices, about his crimes?

AP: No, I never talked to Jay specifically about the past. There was not enough time. I focused instead on his spiritual well-being, on his ability to face death with as composed a mind as possible. I was not relating to him as a person convicted of a crime. I was relating to him as a person facing death.

Poem from the journal of Jaturun "Jay" Siripongs

FM:What were the last few hours with Jay like?

_____________________________________________________

On Jay's November execution date he had been allowed a mala in his cell,
but before giving it to him, one of the guards had put it on the floor and stepped on it. ______________________________________________________

AP: Six hours before an execution, the prisoner leaves his family and friends behind and goes to a very cramped cell right next to the execution chamber. Only his spiritual advisor can accompany him. There are six guards, called the execution squad, in a very confined space, and people like the prison psychiatrist and the warden also come in from time to time. There can be a lot of intimidation from the guards right before the execution. They might be carrying on loud conversations or be obnoxious in other ways. They may be watching TV very loudly just three feet away from the condemned man.

On Jay's November execution date he had been allowed a mala in his cell, but before giving it to him, one of the guards had put it on the floor and stepped on it. After I was strip searched, I was taken to one of these death row holding cells. There, Jay and I were separated into two different cells connected only by a small corner. Right away I did protective chanting as a way of cleaning out negative energy. "We'll take the game away from them," I told Jay.

We had planned for Jay to ask for the Refuges and Precepts in Pali, but he mistakenly did the chant to request a Dhamma talk instead. So I gave a short Dhamma talk to him and the guards.

FM:
What did you talk about?

AP: I told the story of the Buddha, just after his enlightenment, not wanting to teach, as he thought nobody would understand. I talked about the nature of delusion of the human world and the liberation of the Dhamma. I talked about the Four Noble Truths, about how letting go was not a rejection of anything. I instructed Jay to pay attention to the arising of consciousness.

Rather than inclining the mind towards that which will result in suffering and rebirth, I told Jay to move instead towards relinquishment and focusing the mind. In terms of letting go or relinquishment, we talked about forgiveness in the context of "not self." If we haven't forgiven, we keep creating an identity around our pain, and that is what is reborn. That is what suffers. I asked Jay, "Is there anybody you have not forgiven yet?" I meant the system, his parents, others. Jay thought about it. "I haven't forgiven myself completely," he said softly at last. It was touching.

He had a memory of being a person who had been involved in something wrong in the past, yet now in the present he was a different person. It was helpful for him to see that he was not this memory of himself, to let go of the person in the past who was involved in the crimes. It was also interesting to see that the guards seemed intent on what I was saying, and throughout the evening they were actually very solicitous and respectful of both of us.

FM: Was Jay preoccupied with the numerous appeals to save his life that continued during this time?

AP: Jay did not seem concerned or worried about justice. He did not hold out great hope for the appeals to go through. When the final appeals were turned down, it was not a big deal. "I'm accepting the fact that I'll be executed," he said.

FM:What was Jay's state of mind as he got closer to the execution?

AP:At one point, Jay asked, "If I am not the body, not the feelings, not the mind, then what is it that is liberated?" I told him that such a question appearing then in his mind was simply doubt arising. When you let go of everything and experience the peace and clarity inherent in that, you don't have to put a name or identity on it. At another point Jay said, "I have two people on my mind, . . . me and you." I said, "You've got to get rid of me. I'm not going in there with you. And then you have to let go of yourself." We really laughed about that.

Basically, I helped prepare Jay for the many distractions that might take place during the execution. "People will be strapping you down; things will be happening around you," I warned. "You need to establish the mind without going to externals. Keep your attention within." We spent the whole evening meditating, chanting and talking Dhamma. So in the last hour Jay was very peaceful and able to establish his mind firmly on his meditation object. Toward the end, we took the time to do a ceremony of sharing merit and offering blessings, even to the guards. After his final appeal had been turned down, Jay also asked me to do some chanting for the lawyers involved in his case. He had a quality of thoughtfulness right up until the end.

FM: Were you present at the execution?

AP:No. That had been decided before I first visited Jay at San Quentin. I believe that not having yet met me, Jay elected not to have me there with him. When I read the papers the next day, though, they reported that he lay very still during the execution and kept his eyes closed. I found this heartening because I felt he was composing his mind.

FM: How did you feel after the execution?

AP:
I was very grateful to have been there. It was very humbling. One can't help but consider what any one of us would have done in a similar circumstance - relating to our death not as something abstract, sometime off in the future, but knowing that at precisely 12:01 a.m. we will definitely die

At this Coffee Shop, Random Acts of Kindness Top the Menu

Customers at South Carolina eatery find that strangers have paid their check in advance
If you’re measuring the kindness at the Corner Perk in Bluffton, S.C., it’s safe to say their cup runneth over. It’s a cycle of generosity that started two years ago — and lately it’s spinning faster and faster.

In a time when everyone seems to be hard-pressed for cash, more and more are starting to give it away. “It made my day, it really did. It made my day,” customer Michael Aldea said.

“When I went to go pay, they said ‘Oh, it’s paid for. Somebody paid it forward,’ ” customer Sheri Buda said.

“People will come in and say, ‘What do you mean? I don’t understand. Are you trying to buy me a coffee today?’ ” And I say, “No, somebody came in 30 minutes ago and left money to pay for drinks until it runs out,” Josh Cooke, owner of the Corner Perk, explained.

Paying it forward

The pay-it-forward phenomenon kicked off two years ago when an average-joe customer left the first $100 bill.

“It’s someone that just has a kind heart and wants that to generate in this area,” Cooke said of the anonymous female donor.

That donor got what she wanted — not just customers, but strangers who heard what was happening started paying for people who follow. The owner says the lady who started the pay-it-forward tradition kept it going for a few months now and then — but in the past few weeks, the phenomenon has really taken off, with other anonymous contributors following suit.

“He said, ‘I want to do that, too,’ Corner Perk’s Sara Clemmons said of one donor. “He just gave me the hundred dollars and left. He didn’t even get anything.”

None of the anonymous donors leaves their name: only their money, and a feeling of inspiration that is jolting this community.

“For someone to come out of the blue and think about someone other than themselves, it’s refreshing,” Aldea said.

“It’s very inspiring to just see someone living out what so many of us talk about, and doing things for other people,” customer Jenny Dolin agreed.

While they all walk in for a pick-me-up, lately that comes from the compassion that comes with the coffee, not the caffeine.

History of Chopsticks

History of Chopsticks

How did the Asian food utensils originate?
by David Johnson

In much of Asia, especially the so-called "rice bowl" cultures of China, Japan, Korea, and Vietnam, food is usually eaten with chopsticks.

Chopsticks are two long, thin, usually tapered, pieces of wood. Bamboo is the most common material, but they are also be made of various types of wood, as well as plastic, porcelain, animal bone, ivory, metal, coral, agate, and jade.

During the Middle Ages, aristocrats often favored silver chopsticks since it was thought that silver would turn color if it came into contact with poison.

"Forkchops" are chopsticks for insecure Westerners and feature chopsticks at one end and forks and knives at the other

Elegant Craftsmanship

Sometimes chopsticks are quite artistic. Chopsticks can be made of lacquered wood and covered with artwork. Truly elegant chopsticks might be made of gold and embossed in silver with Chinese calligraphy. Artisans also combine various hardwoods and metal to create distinctive designs.
A child's plastic set of chopsticks might feature a cartoon character, such as Mickey Mouse, while aluminum from recycled cans might find new life as a lightweight, easy-to-clean pair of chopsticks.

Elaborate Carvings

Chopsticks may be totally smooth or carved or modeled ripples. Silver or gold paint can be used to give them a rough texture. In Thailand, wood is often elaborately carved into chopsticks. The ends of chopsticks can be rounded or squared, while the tips can be blunt or sharp.

"Forkchops" are chopsticks for insecure Westerners and feature chopsticks at one end and forks and knives at the other, just in case the user can't manage during the meal.

Confucius Promotes Non-Violence

Some believe Confucius championed chopsticks over knives, which would remind people of slaughterhouses.

The Chinese have been using chopsticks for five thousand years. People probably cooked their food in large pots, using twigs to remove it. Overtime, as population grew, people began chopping food into small pieces so it would cook more quickly. Small morsels of food could be eaten without knifes and so the twigs gradually turned into chopsticks.

Some people think that the great scholar Confucius, who lived from roughly 551 to 479 B.C., influenced the development of chopsticks. A vegetarian, Confucius believed knives would remind people of slaughterhouses and were too violent for use at the table.

Non-Chopstick Countries

Chopsticks are not used everywhere in Asia. In India, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Central Asia most people have traditionally eaten with their hands.

The Reincarnation of Jeffrey Keene

The Reincarnation of Jeffrey Keene

Perhaps the greatest circumstantial evidence supporting the reality of reincarnation without using hypnotic regression, is the account of Jeffrey Keene, an Assistant Fire Chief in Westport, Connecticut.

After a series of synchronistic events and subsequent research, Keene discovered many uncanny parallels between his life and the life of a Civil War general named John B. Gordon. The photo on the left shows a comparison between the facial appearance of Jeffrey Keene and General John Gordon.

The similarities between the two go far beyond mere coincidence. What makes Keene's story unique from most accounts of reincarnation is that Keene's story contains evidence that did not involve hypnotic regression. Instead, Keene's evidence of a past-life came from his own life experience involving a series of unusual synchronistic events.

The account of Jeffrey Keene is documented in his book, Someone Else's Yesterday. This book details Keene's amazing journey of accepting the fact that he was being guided to discover his past life as General Gordon. Long before Keene became convinced of his past life, unusual events kept reinforcing its reality. Through subsequent years of research and travel, Keene has amassed compelling evidence of his former life. Keene and his past-life evidence were profiled in the A&E documentary entitled, Beyond Death. An independent file documentary entitled, In Another Life, also profiles Keene's story. His story and photos can also be found on Keene's website and the website of Dr. Walter Semkiw. Dr. Semkiw is the author of the book, Return of the Revolutionaries which contains observations of Keene's case. Keene had never given reincarnation much thought until the extraordinary became ordinary and strange occurrences throughout his life started to make sense. Read an interesting interview of Jeffrey Keene on the SpiritKeep website.

Keene's story began on May, 1991, while on vacation with his wife looking for antiques. They stopped in Sharpsburg, Maryland, where the Civil War battle of Antietam was fought. Though Keene had never read a book on the Civil War before or had any affinity for that era, he felt compelled to visit the battlefield. While walking through a field called "Sunken Road," Keene had the following strange reaction:

"A wave of grief, sadness and anger washed over me. Without warning, I was suddenly being consumed by sensations. Burning tears ran down my cheeks. It became difficult to breathe. I gasped for air, as I stood transfixed in the old roadbed. To this day I could not tell you how much time transpired, but as these feelings, this emotional overload passed, I found myself exhausted as if I had run a marathon. Crawling up the steep embankment to get out of the road, I turned and looked back. I was a bit shaken to say the least and wondered at what had just taken place. It was difficult getting back to the car because I felt so weak. I did not have any answers, just questions. I would one day receive my answers, but not until more than a year later and then from a most unusual source...."

Before leaving Sharpsburg, Keene and his wife visited a gift shop where a Civil War magazine on the Battle of Antietam caught his eye and which he purchased. When they returned home, Keene filed the magazine away and did not look at it until a year and a half later. At that time, when he finally decided to look at the magazine, he once again experienced a strong wave of emotions. When he turned to a page that featured a picture of General John Gordon, Keene was shocked to see himself in General Gordon's visage. Keene learned that General Gordon nearly died after incurring multiple gunshot wounds at Sunken Road during the battle of Antietam. Keene recalled that it was at Sunken Road that he had the profound experience of grief, anger and sadness over a year before.

After his Sunken Road experience, Keene had no idea of the series of events that was about to be put into motion. In a few short steps on an old Civil War road, the line between past and present began to become blurred. As information on General Gordon's life was uncovered, Keene discovered many parallels to himself and General Gordon. Besides the past-life memories, Keene and General Gordon shared a similar physical appearance (looks, height, eye color, birthmarks, and more), personality traits, common lifetime events, writing styles, habits and traits. Both men preferred to stand with their arms crossed. Both had similar tastes in clothing.

Fifteen years before Keene became aware of his connection with General Gordon, an interesting event happened. Keene began having a severe pain in his jaw which grew steadily worse; so much so that he had to be driven to the emergency room where they ran some tests but could not find a cause. Eventually, the pain slowly subsided and then vanished altogether. This painful event occurred on September 9, 1977, his 30th birthday. Fifteen years later, Keene discovered that General Gordon was wounded in the face at the Sunken Road on September 17, 1862 during the Battle of Antietam. General Gordon was 30 years old at the time.

Keene has three markings on his face in the same locations where General Gordon was wounded: under the left eye, on the forehead, and across the right cheek.

Jeffrey Keene's "star" birthmark

General Gordon's

"star" wound

As you can see in the photos above, both men also have a star-shaped mark on their foreheads above the left eye. This can be borne out by photographs in the collections of the United States Library of Congress and the National Archives.

Keene was not only receiving confirmation of a past life; he was being beaten over the head with it. Keene's facial birthmarks support Dr. Ian Stevenson's research on the apparent correspondence between birth marks and past-life physical traumas.

Another synchronistic event involves a written order by General Robert E. Lee on September 9, 1862, which led to the Battle of Antietam where General Gordon was severely wounded. This event occurred on the same day as Jeff Keene's birthday, September 9, 1947. Such synchronistic events have been reported in other cases of reincarnation where a major event in a person's life corresponds to a major event in a past-life.

There also exist similarities between Keene's writing style and General Gordon's. In his later years, General Gordon wrote a book entitled Reminiscences of the Civil War which provided material for such analysis. Comparing a passage of Keene's writing with a passage from Gordon's book reveals very similar linguistic styles. For example, Keene once wrote a letter to the Fire Chief regarding his fire department's response to an emergency incident:

"With my radio restored, man power and apparatus were brought in and put under the guidance of Acting Lieutenant Christopher Ackley. While setting up a plan of action, Lieutenant Ackley displayed good common sense, knowledge, training and a deep concern for the safety of firefighters under his command. A large amount of gas entered the structure by way of a open window. Though we tried to remove all possible sources of ignition, we were able to remove all but two. The owner informed us that the house contained an oil-fired furnace and a hot water heater. There was no way to shut them off from the inside or outside. Using metering devices, a positive pressure fan and opening and closing windows, the hazard was removed."

In General Gordon's book, he describes the efforts of his men to put out a fire in Wrightsville, Pennsylvania:

"With great energy my men labored to save the bridge. I called on the citizens of Wrightsville for buckets and pails, but none were to be found. There was no lack of buckets and pails a little while later, when the town was on fire...My men labored as earnestly and bravely to save the town as they did to save the bridge. In the absence of fire-engines or other appliances, the only chance to arrest the progress of the flames was to form my men around the burning district, with the flank resting on the river's edge, and pass rapidly from hand to hand the pails of water. Thus, and thus only, was the advancing, raging fire met, and at a late hour of the night checked and conquered."

The comparison between Keene's and Gordon's writing style suggests they come from the same "voice".

Keene has demonstrated spontaneous awareness of details of General Gordon's life without having learned them. As an example, Keene toured a visitor center where artifacts of a Confederate surrender ceremony were housed which General Gordon had participated in. A print in the visitor center depicted the event complete with the flag used to surrender. Keene knew innately that this was not the flag actually used. He recognized the correct flag from an assortment displayed at the visitor's center. Upon questioning the center staff, it was verified that the flag in the print was indeed from a later era and that Keene had identified the authentic flag used in the ceremony.

Group cases have emerged that demonstrates a common pattern in how reincarnation occurs. These cases show that facial architecture, personality traits, aptitudes, interests and writing style, stay consistent from lifetime to lifetime. Synchronistic events related to past-lives have been observed.

Reincarnation research suggests that people reincarnate in groups based on shared karma, emotional attachments and joint missions. Keene's case is one which demonstrates all of these principles of reincarnation.

Though Keene has not found pictures of General Gordon's troops, one can only imagine that the same men who served under Gordon as troops now serve under Keene as firefighters. These firefighters have confirmed that Keene certainly displays the personality of a general.

Besides being an Assistant Fire Chief, Jeffrey Keene is now an accomplished Civil War researcher and speaker (having visited most of the major battle sites in the North and South). He is also now a lecturer on Civil War topics.

"Not yet." - the original title of Jeff Keene's book and an order issued by General John Gordon during the Sunken Road battle which was recalled by Jeffrey Keene before he realized his past-life connection.

Miniature Art on the Tip of Pencil by Dalton Ghetti

Many artists have used pencils to create works of art – but Dalton Ghetti creates miniature masterpieces on the tips of pencils.

Dalton, who works as a carpenter, has been making his tiny graphite works for about 25 years. A sculpture of Elvis Presley wearing shades, carved from a single pencil.

The 49-year-old said: “At school I would carve a friend’s name into the wood of a pencil and then give it to them as a present. Later, when I got into sculpture, I would make these huge pieces from things like wood, but decided I wanted to challenge myself by trying to make things as small as possible.

I experimented sculpting with different materials, such as chalk, but one day I had an eureka moment and decided to carve into the graphite of a pencil”

A tiny saw, using both the wood and graphite of a single pencil

Dalton uses three basic tools to make his incredible creations – a razor blade, sewing needle and sculpting knife. He even refuses to use a magnifying glass and has never sold any of his work, only given it away to friends. He said: “I use the sewing needle to make holes or dig into the graphite. I scratch and create lines and turn the graphite around slowly in my hand”

The longest Dalton has spent on one piece was two and half years on a pencil with interlinking chains. A standard figure will take several months. He said: “The interlinking chains took the most effort and I was really pleased with it because it’s so intricate people think it must be two pencils”

When Dalton, from Connecticut, USA, first started he would become frustrated when a piece would break before being finished after he had spent months working on it. He said: “It would drive me mad when I would be just a bit too heavy-handed and the pencil’s tip would break. I would get very nervous sometimes, particularly when the piece was almost finished, and then I would make a mistake. I decided to change the way I thought about the work – when I started a new piece my attitude would be ‘well this will break eventually but let’s see how far I get. It helped me break fewer pencils, and although I still do break them, it’s not as often”

Dalton, who is originally from Brazil, has a box full of more than 100 sculptures that have broken while working on them that he affectionately calls ‘the cemetery collection’. He said: “I have quite a few broken pieces so I decided to glue them on pins and into styrofoam for a display case. People might think it’s weird I keep them but they’re still interesting. I worked on them for months so they might be dead now but at one point I gave them life”

“I don’t make any money from it but that’s not what it’s about for me. However, I would love for a gallery owner in England to fly me over to put on a show,” he said Dalton hollowed out the centre of the wood, then carved the central column of graphite to create this hanging, linked heart

"It was good for the skin to touch the earth, and the old people liked to remove their moccasins and walk with bare feet on the sacred earth... The soil was soothing, strengthening, cleansing, and healing."

--Chief Luther Standing Bear, TETON SIOUX

Touching the earth - getting grounded, centered. There is magic in touching the earth and feeling her healing power. This is especially healthy to do during a troubling time when our minds are racing or can't stop thinking or are locked onto fear or resentment. When I need to feel free I can go to the Mother Earth. The Mother Earth is full of life and love. She always gives her powers to those who come to her. The Mother Earth is alive.

Today, my Great Spirit, let me remember to touch the earth. Let me slow down and live just for today. Let me be gentle, patient and kind.

What should I pray for?

"That spiritual power I wear is much more beautiful and much greater. We call it wisdom, knowledge, power and gift, or love. There are these four parts to that spiritual power. So I wear those. When you wear that power it will beautify your mind and spirit. You become beautiful. Everything that Tunkashila creates is beautiful."

--Wallace Black Elk, LAKOTA

When I was young, I asked my grandfather, "What should I pray for?" He thought for a long time and then he said, "Pray only for wisdom and for the knowledge of love." This makes a lot of sense. No matter what happens I ask the Creator to show me the lessons I should be learning. I pray for Him to help me learn the lessons. By doing this everyday we become beautiful human beings.

Listen to Your Elders, today

"Men and women have an equal responsibility to restore the strength of the family,
which is the foundation of all cultures."

--Haida Gwaii Traditional Circle of Elders The family is the heartbeat of strength of the culture. The grandfathers and grandmothers taught their children; they in turn had children who taught their children. If the family isn't taught the culture, then the children become adults, and the adults become the grandfathers and grandmothers, and the result is the culture becomes lost. This is how language is lost; this is how dances are lost; this is how knowledge is lost. We need to listen to our Elders, today, before it's too late.

Chief Seattle

Chief Seattle was an ancestral leader of the Suquamish Tribe born in 1786 at the Old-Man-House village in Suquamish. His father was Schweabe, a Suquamish Chief, and his was mother Scholitza, a Duwamish from a village near present Kent. Seattle was a six years old when Captain George Vancouver anchored in Suquamish waters off Bainbridge Island in 1792.

Seattle achieved his status as chief of the Suquamish and a confederation of Duwamish bands after he planned and executed an attack strategy that saved the Central Puget Sound people from a sneak attack from upriver tribal forces from present King County. Seattle, who was in his early twenties at the time, devised a plan calling for falling trees across the White (now Green) River above Renton that would capsize and disorient the raiding party allowing for Seattle’s forces to attack and capture them.

The plan worked and the people were so impressed that he was promoted to Chief and the former leaders became his sub-chiefs.

Chief Seattle witnessed the transition of his people from their ancient aboriginal life ways to a new one brought by the arrival on non-natives and imposed on them by the United States Government. The Suquamish had to adapt their culture based on fishing, hunting, berry and root gathering and traveling by canoe to accept a new economy and lifestyle forced upon them by religious, social and political institutions. Missionaries, fur traders and finally, permanent settlers brought new technology, a currency system, disease and the concept of private property to the Puget Sound.

The change was destructive and disruptive. The United States had already freed land up for settlers by allowing non-natives to claim Indian lands under the Donation Land Claim Act, angering many of the Tribes. The United States wanted to clear the land of Indian title to allow for settlement via a new transcontinental railroad. The federal government accomplished this by signing Treaties with the Indian tribes. Fearing a military conflict that could not be won in the long term, Chief Seattle signed the 1855 Treaty of Point Elliott with the U.S., agreeing to live on the Port Madison Indian Reservation and give up title to the remainder of Suquamish lands. The U.S., led by Governor Isaac Stevens, agreed to provide health care, education and recognize fishing and hunting rights.

Some of the Tribes, such as the Puyallup and Muckleshoot who signed the Treaty of Medicine Creek, were angered by the Treaty and their reservations, and took up arms against the settlers and the military. The Indian forces eventually attacked the settlement on Elliott Bay. Chief Seattle kept his forces out of the battle and remained at Suquamish. For this action, other acts of kindness and long friendships with early Seattle residents, the founders of the city named the settlement after Chief Seattle.

Seattle remained on the reservation but continued to travel to the City he was named for intertribal meetings and other business. It was in Seattle that he had his only known picture taken and he gave his famous speech. Chief Seattle died in 1866 in Suquamish.

Seattle died before the federal government enacted “Americanization” policies intended to assimilate the Suquamish into the larger society and eliminate tribal governance thereby relieving the U.S. of their treaty committments. These policies included:

1)allotment of Indian reservationi lands to individual families to scatter the Tribe away from their concentrated winter villages

2) forced attendance of Suquamish children at off-reservation boarding schools where use of tribal language and culture was prohibited and punished and

3) the federally sponsored sale of reservation lands to non-natives that has resulted in the loss of 14 miles of reservation waterfront and over 5,000 acres of Suquamish landholdings. The assimilation policy failed and Chief Seattle’s people, the Suquamish Tribe, continue to persevere by honoring their ancestral ways and preserving their culture.

A group of Seattle pioneers placed a marble headstone on his grave in 1890 in recognition of his legacy. The headstone has both of the popular spellings of Chief Seattle’s names; Seattle and Sealth. Sealth is an approximation of the native pronunciation of the Chief’s name.

The Treaty of Point Elliott, recorded 35 years earlier, shows his name as Seattle. The Suquamish Tribe does not object to the use of either name.

Message from the Councils of Light
Feb 17, Posted by kp40

Hold to Howard Hughes’ ‘A few Principles of Thought’.

There are 21 councils that exist and take a leading role in the affairs of your planet. We, in turn, voice our concerns and our opinions as to how your world should be governed and a vote is then taken to decide these matters. Many issues have been decided upon in this manner, and we at this time would like to discuss with you some of these issues.

The timetable for your awakening and return to full consciousness has been often discussed, and this is one of the key areas of discussion for some time within the councils. It has been decided that your year of 2012 would be the time for such an awakening, and many projects are underway at this time to facilitate this mass awakening. How to bring about your awakening has also been a topic of much debate, and it has been decided that a slow process would be the best suitable method as it is felt a sudden awakening would be too great a shock for some of you.

Further matters of discussion have dealt with issues ranging from how each of you individually would be awakened, and it was decided that those who knew you best would handle your individual awakenings as only they know what information you can handle and at what speed you could process it. This is why so many of you are being contacted at this time by your Star Families, and this is why so many of you are receiving clues in the form of dreams and other hints as well, as some of you are finding that your lives have contained some clues along your path that have been carefully placed to jog your memory and gently remind you of your past.

Some of what you may discover about yourself will be rather surprising to you, and some of you may be a little stunned by some of this information. Remember though, many of you have lived many lifetimes over a period of many eons, and as such have an incredibly long history relative to your brief lifespan of your current incarnation. Many of you have lived not only on another planet other than Earth, but some of you have called many planets your home over the years and still do so today. Some of you are from this galaxy, the galaxy you may refer to as the Milky Way, and others, even possibly members of your own Earth families or your close friends, are from distant galaxies throughout this universe.

We, the councils that govern this experiment called Earth, have brought you here and mixed and mingled all these different races from throughout this universe in order to conduct a great social experiment that sought to discover how you would and could all work and play together, and which groups fared better in these ways when paired with certain other groups. Many goals have been reached throughout this long and vast experiment, and large amounts of information have been gleaned from your interactions with each other throughout your many lifetimes.

This great experiment is now drawing to a close, though keep in mind, this experiment is not over yet, and as a matter of fact, some of the most important information has yet to be extracted from your experiences. This calendar year of 2012 will see a great many new variables inserted into the experiment, and many eyes are upon all of you as you proceed through the sometimes radical changes and disruptions to your normal lives.

The introduction of extraterrestrial beings into your world is one major insertion into your reality that is scheduled to take place rather soon in the coming days ahead. We wish you all to know at this time that this is not an alien invasion, as we are your brothers and sisters from your home worlds who have designed this entire experiment and who have been watching over you for the entire span of all your incarnations. We would never let any harm come to you, and this is the case today just as it has always been.

We wish at this time to proceed with your awakening as it is soon that we wish to land on your soil and rejoin our space family members in reunion. We of the councils have concluded that the removal of your criminal Cabal is a necessary step towards this goal, and this is the current phase of our operation that we are engaged in at this time. Matters are proceeding smoothly, and we see arrests beginning shortly of these various men and women from many parts of your world. The removal of these dark hearts will allow for a far safer reunion with you, our families, as this will enable us to focus on pressing matters at hand rather than to continually monitor the dark and their plots to hamper our mission.

These cabalists were also a key component to our overall experiment, as nothing you have experienced was by chance. Your reality was carefully planned and meticulously orchestrated from the outset, and the Cabal was allowed to flourish in order for us to gain very valuable research from their thoughts and actions as well as your, the people’s, reactions to their agenda to enslave you. This is one area of this wide ranging experiment that we deem a complete success, and our findings of all you have encountered and endured will be discussed with you, at length if you so wish, after the conclusion of this endeavor.

This will be soon, as there remains little time left considering how many very long years you have all been a part of this experiment.

We wish at this time to thank each and every one of our participants and tell you how pleased we are for all your immense efforts through the many tests and trials you have endured in the name of science and research.

Please remember that you have all volunteered for this experiment because you all felt the knowledge gained from it would be extremely beneficial to those who design and build this, as well as other, universes. Your efforts here will not soon be forgotten, and each of you is owed such a large debt of gratitude for your service in this regard. We of the councils thank you and applaud your efforts, and we wish to assure you at this time that this will all be over for you very soon and you will be returned to full consciousness and your Star Families, wherever they may be from, very soon in the days ahead. What a joyous moment this will be for you as well as your brothers and sisters from the stars.
You have been promised that your lives would change for the better very soon, and this promise will not ever be broken. Many of you left lives of great abundance and beauty before leaving it all behind to journey here, and all that you have said goodbye to will be returned to you just as it was left by you. There is nothing of your past that you will lose due to your time away and this includes all your fond memories of your friends and family.

There are also many of you who have not experienced lifetimes full of abundance and beauty such as some of your brothers and sisters have, but we have many surprises in store for you as much has changed since you have been away. Many worlds have been rewarded greatly due to your service here, and we wish you to know that so many from your home worlds have seen such improvement in their lives because of the work you have done and continue to do here. We are sure you will learn of these improvements upon your returns to your home worlds, and we are also sure your friends and family will have much to say to you about your journey here and all your tremendous efforts.
Today we would like to say thank you to all of you for your hard work and sacrifices, and assure you that you are soon to reach the end of this experiment and return to the lives you have all left behind. We of your star families are here waiting for you with open arms, and soon all your dreams and memories will be returned to you as was promised before you said goodbye so long ago.
We will be with you very soon, you have our word. Remember, no harm will come to you, and we wish you to assist to assure your brothers and sisters of who we are and our reason for being here. In time, all will understand and be returned to full consciousness, but for now, many souls will need your guidance and assistance to get through these challenging times. We know many of you will respond to this call, and we thank you again for all your efforts in this regard.
We wish you to know your safety is being looked after as we head towards your ascension into the higher realms. Much work will be done in the days ahead to ensure as smooth of a transition as is possible, and we request your assistance in these many and varied projects. ‘Help us help you’ is our motto today, and you can help yourselves greatly by learning to accept us as your brothers and sisters, for indeed we are.
Looking into these matters further, we see a date now when we can get underway our disclosure announcements, as your governments have refused to cooperate. They will, in time, be replaced with proper functioning governments who have nothing but the people’s best interest in mind, but for today, let us focus on one task at a time. We wish at this point to begin our own methods of announcing to your world that we are here, and these various programs will begin shortly as situations allow.
We have a meticulous plan for this as well, and you can be assured all of your world who wish to see this greater picture will have all the information made available to them to see this new reality that they are being offered. There will be many of those who decline this new reality, and their wishes will also be accommodated. Please honor everyone else’s free will choice to experience any reality they so desire, as they know best what is right for them at this present time. All will benefit from this experience in their own unique way, and what may be best suited for one, may not be suitable for another. Understand this, and honor the laws of free will and choice as others extend the same courtesy to you.
There are many different beings here at this time of many different levels of advancement, and we must learn to tread lightly when others understandings and realities are concerned. Again, you would not be here if we did not feel you could handle this assignment, so we are confident you will abide by these terms of your incarnation. Soon you will be surrounded only by those of like mind, and you can then engage in mutual conversations of your choice freely as you wish. Today, however, you must be careful to gauge who it is you are speaking to and how much of this life-changing information they are responding to and are interested in discussing.
This is no easy task, but what of your assignments this far have been without challenge? We know you can do it, and so do you. Continue to spread the news of our existence and our presence here in your world keeping this discussion in mind, and we wish you great success in your efforts to inform those who accept this information as to our imminent reunion with you.
Keep your eyes to the skies and your ears to the news media for signs of our arrival and of the many arrests we have spoken of.
Events are soon to get underway that will begin the great many changes to your world and your lives. We are confident this will be a most enjoyable time for all of you who do not allow fear to dampen these proceedings. Nevertheless, we will go ahead with the scheduled events as the time has come for these next stages and they cannot be delayed any longer. Much work needs to be done, and each day from now until the end of this year will be filled with the many tasks we must accomplish together, and together we will see this done.
We have a meticulous schedule we must adhere to, and we are certain that upon learning more of what these tasks are and what they mean to accomplish, you will also share our views of how important it is that we stay on schedule and do not allow ourselves to fall behind. Everything we are doing today and everything we have planned is of great importance, and we wish you to bear this in mind as we move now forward with the next phases of the operation. Stay alert for updates and for the initiation of these events as they will begin shortly and you may not have further word or advanced notice of this.
Now is not the time for distractions, and we wish you all to know when you begin to hear of these events that it is not a drill or a test of systems, but the commencement of all we have previously discussed with you, our agents in the field.
Now is the time for action, and it is action you shall now see. Remain alert. Stay prepared. The changes will be sudden and their scope far reaching. Your world needs many upgrades and changes, and the time allotted for the setup and launch of these programs is now short.
We ask you for your continued assistance to see these changes affected as quickly and efficiently as possible, and we have great confidence in you that you all will do your best to see this goal reached as you have always done.
Not knowing what precisely your future holds for you can be a rather daunting task, and we try to see this from your eyes. Keep in mind you will be safe as long as we can be with you to prepare you for any uncertainties. We are very experienced and trained to deal with any and all global threats, and we are anxious as well to get underway with our many projects that will help to ensure your safe passage into the higher realms.
It is up to you as a collective whether you wish our assistance or not, and we await your collective decision. Send out your signal to us that you are willing to accept us, and we will receive your message. When a great enough percentage of your human family are willing to accept us, we will begin the initiation of our introductions to you. This is the way it must be, and we ask our Lightworkers to continue your efforts laying the groundwork for our arrival.
We do see this day approaching rapidly due to all the efforts of our volunteers, and we thank you greatly for your continued assistance which is invaluable at this time. We will also assist in this regard by allowing increased sightings of our ships to further facilitate the public’s awareness of our presence. Please share this photographic as well as videotaped evidence through your online communities, as this is the greatest tool at your disposal at this time.
Please try to make this evidence accessible to many others as well that may not be members of your advanced groups and communities. This is of key importance at this time, as not many areas of access to this information is being made available to them at this time. We do have certain allies within your media outlets, and soon their services will come into play, but for now, this task is primarily on the shoulders of you, our Lightworkers.
We are confident you can get the job done, that is why you are here, and we know you will give this area of your assignments the attention and effort required. Again, we thank you greatly for your continued hard work here on this planet.
For many of you this is your very first assignment, and we wish you to know you’re doing a very fine job and we look forward to working with you again in future endeavors. Please be a little more patient with matters on our side of the curtain, as our mission unfolds not only according to our schedule, but conforms to the developments which you are responsible for.
If all of you who read our words also took action to spread them to others, then we feel matters would be proceeding faster than they are at this point. Please continue to share all related information pertaining to our presence and mission, as this is a most suitable means to hasten our arrival and reunion with you, our human family. We will also do all we can to facilitate this reunion with you, and we see that this day is not far off as much headway is being gained every hour of every day.
Mind your brothers and sisters at this time, as many will need guidance and assistance to get through these challenging times. We see so many of you coming to the aid of others, and we cannot tell you at this time how pleased we are with all of you that have responded to your call and have chosen to assist your human brothers and sisters in this way. From all we have seen of your journey together from the early beginnings to today, we can tell you that you have all come so far and have grown so as beings of immense wisdom and knowledge and love for each other.
It was not long ago when many of you warred with each other, and today you instead come to each other’s assistance to help each other in your times of need. How incredibly heartwarming this is for us to witness, and we wish you all to know how loved you all are and how we so greatly appreciate everything you have done and continue to do.
We are your families from long ago, and we look so forward to our reunion with you, our star brothers and sisters. We will be with you again soon. We of the councils of light say goodbye to you for now, and wish you to know it has been an honor to speak with you today.

Still the best of friends aged 102, the world's oldest living twins
By Nicholas Petche | Yahoo! News

Mark Twain was still alive and the South Pole had yet to be discovered when Edith Ritchie and Evelyn 'Evie' Middleton were born. Now, aged 102, the pair have been named as the world's oldest living twins.

Edith Ritchie and Evelyn 'Evie' Middleton have been named as the world's oldest living twins.

They were born on 15 November of that year on a farm near Newburgh in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Britain still had Edward VII as king and Florence Nightingale was still alive. Remarkably, despite their age, neither of the twins has ever left UK shores.

Although not identical, their mother always dressed them exactly the same. After leaving school, they worked on farms before leaving to start their own families.

Evelyn married William Middleton and had four children, 12 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

Her sister Edith, married Nathaniel Ritchie and had four children, nine grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and three-great-great grandchildren.

The sisters have remained close throughout their life and now live together at Bonnyton House care home in Ellon, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.

When asked her secret to a long life, Edith says 'simple living, hard work and a good husband'.

Guinness World Records Editor-in-Chief Craig Glenday said: 'They’re not just the oldest in the UK, they hold the world title. They’ve clearly benefitted from good genes, and a solid life-long friendship that only twins can truly understand.'

Wanderer of the Skies - January 12, 2012

Greetings from the Federation:

What must come to pass is presently being discussed at the highest levels of your world governments, behind closed doors and through emissaries to the various other governments around the world. As time draws closer to the inevitable, your leaders are aware that they cannot stop the tide of disclosure sweeping over your planet. They know that they will either be swept away by this tide or they must decide to take the reins and make disclosure their own. Their ability to waffle on this topic amazes even us as we see them fight among themselves for a common ground. Once reached, someone inevitably backs off and the process starts all over again. We wait in the background for what must be done, if not done so by your own people.

News will reach you shortly about a “new” scientific development in the field of what you have termed zero point energy systems. It will be touted as theoretical, but in reality it is a functioning model of a real energy device created a long time ago and only now being released. There will be interesting developments in your legal field over patent protections. The “news" of this breakthrough will be carefully monitored by those in power to determine what type of impact such a disclosure makes upon the people as a whole.

The Queen of England has ceded control over a faction of the Illuminati to a group over which our allies have “consulting” privileges. This means, in the longer term, that this faction will be more amenable to the changes necessary to effect disclosure and the release of the cabal’s hold over the people. This was a negotiated “peace” that came about after many, many months of positioning on all sides. We are confident that this is another roadblock successfully removed towards the inevitable.

You will have noticed a slight decrease in the sightings of late although those sighting that have made it to your news have been of a more spectacular nature. This is about to change. We are now in another stage of the disclosure process wherein the revealing of our craft to you will become more pronounced.

A major meeting of all factions of the Federation has recently been held. This was a very big event, not only in numbers but also in importance. It was the final preparation meeting of all involved to go over every detail of the coming events, including the political, social, religious, emotional, mental, and physical ramifications of disclosure. This meeting was held aboard one of our great spacers, a living machine so large as to dwarf your understanding of construction. Although the physical space was not really necessary to this process as we have telepathically discussed much of these issues, from time to time, we convene physically to resolve issues better dealt with in that fashion. Among those represented were earth humans, who voiced their opinions about coming events and whose opinions were held in the highest regard.

Although you have been beset with many setbacks over the years, we are excited by the prospects of the coming months and what this has in store for all of us. Bring yourselves to feel once again your excitement for the times in which you have chosen to live and the manner in which you have awoken to the truth. Your thoughts will create waves which will act as beacons for the truth and this truth will return to you powerfully.

Be at peace.

The Kingdoms of Heaven and Hell and the Return of CHRIST. For a period of 23 hours, a young Ecuadorian girl named Angelica was shown the Kingdoms of Heaven and Hell, and the Return of Christ. She witnessed Jesus weeping as He overlooked multitudes of souls lost forever, a world that has rejected Him, a Church that is mostly unprepared for Him, a people that have stopped witnessing to the lost, and an entertainment industry that even lures children to satan. She witnessed many of our esteemed cultural icons suffering in the Pit; singers, entertainers, and even a pope. Angelica was also shown how the Kingdom of Heaven is all wonderfully prepared and ready, an unimaginable glorious place, where no evil exists. Though Jesus is ONLY coming back for a Holy People, and many of God's children will NOT be ready on that day, and will be left behind in a world that will fall apart. -aka.23 Horas Muertra This video is sure to be controversial, it has started a firestorm of discussions and argument all over South America. Now, finally translated into English, it will probably be just as contentious here. Many of you just won't believe this.

One of the world's most expensive foods is made from bird saliva
Wednesday, December 07, 2011
by Mike Adams, the Health Range

(NaturalNews) For more than 400 years, bird's nest soup has long been one of the most expensive foods in the world, and even today a single bowl of it costs between $30 and $100. You can't just make it out of any bird's nest. Only the edible nest of the cave swiftlet will do, a nest made entirely out of the bird's saliva. These nests are high in calcium, iron, magnesium and potassium. They are hard when harvested, but partially dissolve into a more jelly-like consistency when boiled into soup.

Cave swiftlets nest high up on sheer rock walls inside pitch dark caves, where they build sticky nests out of their own saliva. Traditionally, these nests can be harvested only by climbing on ladders up into the heights of these caves, a difficult and fairly dangerous undertaking. Today the swiftlets are encouraged to build their nests in artificially constructed concrete nesting houses. Even so, the harvested nests still sell for as much as $10,000 per kilogram.

Perhaps due to the high mineral content of the nests, eating them is believed to enhance lung health, prevents coughs, improve constitution and even promote longevity. The nests are nearly 50 percent protein and 30 percent carbohydrates, with a relatively small amount of inorganic salts and fiber.

The Inner Plane Ascended Masters Want Us to Approach them Coming From A Place of EmpowermentSeptember 28th, 2011The inner plane Ascended Masters want us to approach the coming from a place of personal power and empowerment. They don’t want us to regard ourselves as lowly worms having no self-worth, looking at ourselves as being of lesser value than them. They don’t want us to put them on a pedestal! Not at all! They also don’t want us to wait for them to tell us what to do! They want us to use our own God-given mind and creativity to come up with plans and ideas ourselves! They want to communicate with an equal, with a master!Obviously they are here to help and guide us along the way; however, their main agenda is to help us become masters in our own right so we can step into their footsteps, and so they themselves can step into the footsteps of their own teachers! The Integrated Ascended Master is determined to serve the inner plane Ascended Masters with personal power and vision. So let it be written, So let it be done.© 2011, Dr Joshua David Stone and Gloria Excelsias, www.IAMUniversity.org

The Goddess of Mercy, Gentle Protectoress, Bodhisattva of Compassion

Known as The Goddess of Mercy, Gentle Protectoress, Bodhisattva of Compassion, even the savior of seamen and fishermen, she holds many titles. The spelling of her name varies, but it is not so much the arrangement of letters as it is the effect that her spoken name produces on those with a Buddhist background, similar to a reaction in the West when one is speaking of the Virgin Mary. In both cases, it invokes the feeling of compassion and unconditional love.

Indeed, her force is compared to Mother Mary in the West, Green Tara in the Tibetan culture, the Virgin of Guadeloupe in Mexico, and many other ancient goddesses, the matriarchy of old. You might call her the Buddhist Madonna, or, as She calls herself, "The Mother of all Buddhas".

By her own words, she is a complex energy presence. Thus, when asked her about her incarnations as "Kwan Yin," this involves many persons that have embodied and reflected this energy in their lives on earth, as far as we can understand. According to Sucheta's channelings, the closest association of Kwan Yin being linked to a person energetically in recent times is Miao Shan, an ancient Chinese princess who was known for her great compassion.

Here is a quote from Kwan Yin about this:

"Although I am Bodhisattva, I am energy. I am not a person.

Basically, the Kwan Yin energy was never in one single body. It has always been a great part of the energy of all of compassion of all the Universe. What you see in front of you [Marjorie] is one person who has been able to tap in and release for a period of time, so that she can let us be a part of her reality and to share that with you so that you can be encouraged, and that you can also bring forward the part of you that knows the truth."

The name "Kwan Yin" is a derivation of a Chinese name for the goddess that is this energy of motherly compassion. This is really a description of her energy ("she who hears the cries of the people") which has become accepted as her name on earth. Although there are variations, the feeling is the same. She responds to the heartfelt needs and anguish of the people of earth regardless of background or belief.

Being one of the "mother" goddesses, she is especially connected to those in need of any kind of help, be they sick, lost, frightened or simply in unfortunate circumstances. She is a great protector and benefactor of the weak, the ill and especially the children and the babies.

Many erect alters to Kwan Yin, the "bestower of children" -- the one who hears the prayers of anyone wanting to conceive a child -- to increase their fertility. There is a connection with the care of souls, both during birth and after death. Taoists invoke her presence to free newly departed souls from the judgement of the underworld. She guards the souls of the newborn and guides them to their new parents.

Her range of influence is vast, from China to Korea and Japan, all the way down into Malaysia. She has super-ceded her Buddhist traditions and jumped into the realm of a more universally venerated goddess, now known to those of many different faiths and sects. Her image can be found on most any alter of worship in temples, homes, schools, shops, restaurants, out of the way grottos and even on the dashboards of taxis.

Entwined in the faith of Buddhism, her first real appearance in literature seems to be around 400 AD. By that time, Buddhism had been around for nearly 1000 years, spreading from its birthplace in India to China, and subsequently to Korea, Japan and Tibet.

Devotees of Avalokitesvara, or Avalokita, Bodhisattva of Compassion of Indian Buddhism, brought the concept of Avalokita to China. There, Avalokita, or Kwan Yin, was adopted as a god in the male form and later was gradually changed by some to resemble a female, lending a rather androgynous element to her.

By 1200 AD she was definitely a female portrayed in flowing robes.

Avalokita is depicted with many arms, hands and heads, sometimes with an eye in each palm representing the ever watchful omnipresent mother, ready to immediately reach out in any direction to alleviate suffering.

In Buddhist mythology, it states that Avalokita was born from Amitabha Buddha's right eye, after which he proclaimed, "Om Mani Padme Hum" -- Hail to the jewel in the lotus -- a sentiment of her preciousness to him. Some believe she is actually an incarnation of Amitabha Buddha. The Chinese translation of the Sanskrit Avalokita is Kuan shih Yin, the full form of the shortened Kuan Yin, or Kwan Yin.

It is said in ancient writings that she was embodied as Miao Shan (whose name means "wonderfully kind one"), a Chinese princess who lived about 700 BC. This legendary Buddhist saint is said to have spent nine years living on an island off the coast of China, healing, meditating and saving sailors from shipwreck. This island became a place of worship and pilgrimage for many, especially in one of the caves there, which was transformed into a shrine dedicated to Kwan Yin.

She is called a Bodhisattva, literally a "being of bodhi, or enlightenment."

Bodhi is the spiritual energy that produces an urge for enlightenment, emanating Wisdom and Compassion. The Buddhas are the primary stream from this energy, the secondary stream from the Buddhas being the Bodhisattva. A Bodhisattva is any soul which has attained enlightenment and has freed itself from the karmic cycle of rebirth, but which has forgone the bliss of Nirvana, the merging with the
Creator, in order to help all the rest attain their enlightenment. This is their vow. It is said that as she was about to enter heaven, she paused at the threshold as the cries of the world reached her ears, and she returned to help them. She is also called an Ascended Master, which essentially means that one has learned all their lessons, transmuted their karma, and is not compelled to experience being reborn into a physical body if they do not desire it.

In depictions she is shown with pearls of illumination in one hand; and with the other she pours out "sweet dew", the nectar of Wisdom and Compassion from a small vase, blessing all with physical and spiritual peace. Her cupped hands are a symbol of the womb and the universal feminine principal. She sometimes holds a sheaf of ripe rice, a metaphor for sustenance supplied.

The dragon is often seen with her, a symbol of wisdom, strength, and the power of divine transformation. A Divine Mother, always there are children around her or being held by her. There are two small attendants that show up periodically, a "young man of excellent capacities" and the "daughter of the Dragon King," both related to the legendary Miao Shan. As reference to fishermen, sailors and water, she can be seen on a boat or a lotus flower crossing the sea, rising from the sea on the back of a dragon. Other things related to her are a dove, a scroll of prayers which are the teachings of Buddha, a rosary of white crystal beads showing the rounds of rebirth, and a willow spray with which she sprinkles the divine nectar of life.

The Origin of Kwan Yin, or Miao Shan

There are many legends about the origin of Kuan Yin, but this in one of the most popular.

In 7th century China, a king had three daughters, the youngest named Miao-Shan. At the time of Miao-Shan's birth, the earth trembled and a wonderful fragrance and flower blossoms sprang up around the land. Many of the local people said they saw the signs of a holy incarnation on her body.

While the king and queen were amazed by this blessing.

Unfortunately, they were corrupt and saw little value in a child who appeared pure and kind. When Miao-Shan got older, the king wanted to find a husband for her. She told her father she would only marry if by so doing she would be able to help alleviate the suffering of all mankind.

The king became enraged when he heard of her devotion to helping others, and forced her to slave away at menial tasks. Her mother, the queen, and her two sisters admonished her, all to no avail.

In desperation, the king decided to let her pursue her religious calling at a monastery, but ordered the nuns there to treat her so badly she would change her mind. She was forced to collect wood and water, and tend a garden for the kitchen. They thought this would be impossible, since the land around the monastery was barren. To everyone's amazement, the garden flourished, even in winter, and a spring welled up out of nowhere next to the kitchen.

When the king heard about these miracles, he decided that he was going to kill Miao-Shan. After all, the nuns who were supposed to have tormented her. But as his henchmen arrived at the monastery, a spirit came out of a fog of clouds and carried her away to safety on a remote island.

She lived there on her own for many years, pursuing a life of religious dedication.

Several years later, her father became seriously ill. He was unable to sleep or eat; his doctors believed he would certainly die soon. As he was about to pass, a monk came to visit the king. The monk told the king he could cure the monarch, but he would have to grind up the arms and eyes of one free from hatred to make the medicine. The king thought this was impossible, but the monk assured him that there was a Bodhisattva living in the king's domain who would gladly surrender those items if asked.

The king sent an envoy to find this unknown bodhisattva. When the envoy made the request, Miao-Shan gladly cut out her eyes and severed her arms. The envoy returned and the monk made the medicine. The king instantly recovered. When the king thanked the monk; he chastised the king by saying, "You should thank the one who gave her eyes and arms." Suddenly, the monk disappeared. The king believed this was divine intervention and after ordering a coach prepared headed off with his family to find and thank the unknown bodhisattva.

When the royal family arrived they realized it is was their daughter, Miao-Shan, who had made the sacrifice. Miao-Shan spoke up, "Mindful of my father's love, I have repaid him with my eyes and arms." With eyes full of tears and hearts full of shame, the family gathered to hug Miao-Shan. As they did so auspicious clouds formed around Miao-Shan. The earth trembled, flowers rained down, and a holy manifestation of the Thousand Eyes and Thousand Arms appeared hovering in the air.

And then, the bodhisattva was gone. To honor Miao-Shan the royal family built a shrine on the spot, which is known as Fragrant Mountain.

BODHISATTVA (also spelled Boddhisattva): Literally means "enlightened being"; a soul who, through compassion and altruism, has earned the right to leave this world of suffering and enter nirvana, but has chosen instead to stay on Earth to instruct others to until all beings are enlightened. A Bodhisattva acts as the key figure in Mahayana Buddhism.

The Arrival of Universal LOVE

The Arrival of Universal LOVE

“As the new-human prototypes fully activate and physically embody the frequencies of universal LOVE, mother earth receives the nourishing scalar energies needed to ease her labor pains…as do each of you.” -Seven Sisters of Pleiades

Post 11:11

It’s been three weeks since the 11:11 when, yet again, our inner-world turned inside out and our outer-world turned upside down. It always takes a good chunk of time after a major portal to get our wigs on straight again, but there is so much going on in the cosmos during this very concentrated and sacred passage into a new year/era/world, that its difficult to impossible to wrap our brains around it or to figure out which end is up just yet.

One thing is certain…we are still frolicking in the post-11:11 void (and soon to be vacuumed up into the 12:12)… enduring the usual excavation period that follows any major cosmic event, and integrating the motherload of all gateways that we just exploded thru. And even tho we are currently gaining access to an entirely new realm of (heart) intelligence, and coming into contact with some new-level awarenesses, this is certainly no time for making sense out of it all (compliments of mercury retrograde). We are still so thick in the haze of transmutation that we can’t really see a foot in front of our faces…and with all the shards of lingering 3D shrapnel still flying thru the air, it’s not even advisable to try.

Also worth mentioning that we are in the midst of a powerful eclipse portal (there was a partial solar eclipse on 11/25 and another total lunar eclipse approaching on the full moon of 12/10)…and of course, right on the heels of the upcoming lunar eclipse is the 12:12 stargate, which will be soon followed by the winter solstice. Throw in a few solar flares and CME’s that I am sure will grace us this month as they so unapologetically did right around Thanksgiving, and we have quite a cosmic cocktail to nurse for our holiday parties.

So yes, even tho the pains aren’t quite as intense as they used to be, and we are able to ride the waves with more confidence, we are still heaving thru the labor of rebirth and need to surrender ourselves fully thru these remaining contractions of 2011.

“From the winter solstice to the new moon you have the opportunity to glean a whole new perspective, one that incurs real change, breakthroughs and freedom”-Seven Sisters
From what I am hearing, the hardest part is mostly over, and even tho we are all at a point where we feel we literally can’t go on a minute longer…how many times have we said that over the last 7 years?…we still have a bit more pushing to do. But we can gather our focus and pull strength from the first signs of life that are beginning to emerge as the windows of universal LOVE crack open, replete with a fresh supply of restorative adamantine particles which are blowing into our lives & bodies on the winds of change.

This the first time we (a large portion of humanity) are being reborn in this way…fully conscious…and this (re)birth moment is THE return to zero-point consciousness, a total reset & recalibration, where the feminine and masculine energies are perfectly in balance to enable us to physically ascend beyond polarity (karmic) consciousness…and in so many ways, things still suck, but the miracle in all of this is that we are being supported thru this transition in literally every.way.possible. There is no bowing out now.

Thru the last few weeks, we have all been swept out to sea by an aggressive, but purifying cosmic riptide of transformation. We are far from “business as usual”, and instead of flowing with the universal current, we have been disconnected from life and are bouncing around uncontrollably in the choppy surf of the unknown. Being thrown around like this can be unsettling if we let it, but those who remain calmly centered in faith of where the heart is leading us will notice that tho we have been cast out deep into the sea yet again, this time we are not alone here.

As the swells of the ocean temporarily lift our sights to new heights, we begin to see not only the horizon of the new world that each of us has courageously dreamed into existence, but we also notice that bobbing all around us, in the same cleansing waters, are the members of our resonant soul family joining us now in the discovery and creation of a new earth.

Once we recognize each other, all we have to do is extend a hand to regain our fortitude, resilience and strength in numbers so that together, we can swim to the shore of our brand new lives.

A sense of completion fills the air and we are refueled for the remaining miles….

Kindred-Spirits

“There is a new order rising and the souls at the forefront of these changes are beginning to come together to create group resonances that will influence earth and humanity in magnanimous ways.” Seven Sisters

Not much is crystal clear about our next steps, its true, but there is one element of this recent stargate that has already begun to solidify on the other side, and in preparation for 2012…the reconnection to our soul families, our brothers & sisters from home.

You may be noticing the emergence of these soul clusters popping up around you now as either romantic/spiritual/kindred partnerships…business/purpose-driven connections that are just forming and will fortify in the new year… new opportunities to work with others of shared-interest/like-mind…the final pieces (people) to complete your collective contribution to humanity, etc.

In some cases, these connections are forming over the internet, or they may (finally) be in your physical world…either way, the coming together of these soul groups is a required step to procure the many manifestations of our heart-felt desires for the new earth. We are officially starting to come together in heart-resonance, as the new earth guardians for phase II of ascension…what the unseens refer to as the “physicalization phase”.

Like everything else, this coming together will likely be an ongoing unfolding process throughout 2012, so if your not sensing these connections yet you have plenty of “time”…whatever time means now. The sisters say that there will be a blossoming of new relationships and openings to expand beyond what is currently known, as well as a deepening of existing soul-relationships. If I am understanding this correctly, the physicalization phase and embodiment phase are simultaneous happenings…the overall period of time allotted for our ascension to become physically realized…a process that has already begun and includes the physical manifestations and applications of our wildest dreams & deepest desires…desires which stem from achieving our highest potential in LOVE.
In other words, for those capable of embodying the frequency of universal LOVE, 2012 will be about mastery of the physical domain, of physical matter…including our biology. We will be learning all kinds of new things including how to co-create with the forces of the universe thru the gateway of our magnetic (high) heart. (much more on this to come in the new year)

*NOTE: Feels important to state here that contrary to what some be-lie-ve, biological ascension is not a one-time event…it is an ongoing series of purifying waves of Source energy that spur a succession of genetic activations and advancements that lead to the embodiment of divine LOVE…a frequency that those at the forefront have been tuning into, aligning with & integrating for many, many years. We are beginning to embody our divinity, yes, and we are learning how to harness/direct our physical energy like masters, sure…but keep in mind that every-single-cell of our biology, and the DNA contained within those cells, is changing in radical ways to adapt to our new level programming…which is just a long way of saying that time and space are required for transfiguration in the physical world. Just physics.

The physics of the 3D physic-al realm governs the world of form and is by far the most dense, the least malleable, and therefore the slowest and last to change. Unfortunately, this incremental process is what it means to “bring our bodies with us” thru our ascension into 5D. Granted, physical death may be the faster route, but its not the one we signed up for. We’re on the slow train to heaven…and with lots of local stops.

I know I say this often, but there is a lot of misconception about what is physic-ally taking place within our bodies and what we should expect. This evolutionary process that we call ascension is a VERY biological one, which is why I continually draw the focus to our physical bodies in these updates. The Pleiadians add that these misconceptions are perpetuated by those who think that ascension is merely a spiritual quest…which is not only inaccurate, it’s barely scratching the surface of what’s actually entailed to truly morph our flesh into christed-beings.

Because we feel unwell does not mean that we failed at our ascension, it means that we are mutating, kicking up emotional & cellular debris, dropping density, and become more refined. Again, a p r o c e s s. It’s all leading somewhere…the destination is embodied LOVE…but we don’t just wake up this way one day on the other side of a stargate portal…we eeeeease into it. The stargates are ongoing and consecutive for a reason, each one opens us up to the “potential” to take the next, deeper step into LOVE. How could it be any other way?

{For those finding it a challenge to surrender to the embodiment process, my recent Pleiadian-guided handbook (From Suffering to Spiritual Ecstasy: simple integration techniques for sacred embodiment) will be available until 2012 as a donation-based offering and can be acquired thru paypal HERE}
“There is a period of global restructuring up ahead, one that will require some patience, but as each of you step into position as new earth guardians, these changes will speed up and gather momentum around the planet. For this reason, it is vital now that those who are being called to planetary missions of service step up and say YES to those opportunities that arise, for these are opening the doors to reunite with your resonant soul families. It is your soul family that carries the group resonance of a new humanity and the time is now to join forces, to co-create your long-held visions of heaven on earth.” -Seven Sisters

Radiance of LOVE

“There is a new understanding that is permeating your sphere with regard to LOVE, and this new understanding is the basis for all of life on the new-earth to grow, to flourish.” -Seven Sisters
As we embody the full radiance of LOVE, we are, in fact, adapting to the biological changes required for ascended mastery. The sisters have shared with me that one of the most impacting, life-altering changes initiated thru the 11:11 is that our individual cells, which make up our entire human body, are beginning to take on the resonance of the 528 Hz…one of the six core frequencies of creation, that of universal LOVE and miracles.

This radiance can be experienced in the body as a sensation-based bliss…more like waves of love-ecstasy that undulate thru the cells, releasing endorphins to create a heightened sensation of being alive…where everything around us, including the air we breathe, is charged with LOVE. This LOVE energy is a subtle, but vital intelligence that permeates everything to the point where the world just feels better and seems more, well…colorful. This may sound trippy, and honestly, it does feel to me like a very mild version of the street drug ecstasy…namely called “The Love Drug”…but sans the panicky/paranoia side effects that can accompany any psychoactive artificial high.

I now understand this feeling to be the “transference” process that the Pleiadian High Council referred to in the last update… which they define as the transfer of Source intelligence (the frequency of LOVE) to our cells…a feeling that is ultimately generated from the (high) heart center. According to the PHC, this is this feeling sensation that is actually transforming the body into light.

“Your biology will take on this resonance in waves that will permeate every cell of your bodies. This is what is meant by the term, rapture. This process results in a full-body release from density.” –Seven Sisters

We are not all able to uphold or sustain this frequency full-time yet, but some are close. Right now it is difficult to tap into these subtle sensations since we are undergoing such deep cellular restructuring, but overall the unseens say that the amount of time it takes for each of us to settle into our new biology and maintain the 528 Hz vibration of LOVE in our bodies varies for each individual and is contingent on numerous elements including soul path, the timing of incarnation, genetic/karmic clearing, cell damage and planetary missions of service. In other words, the process is perfect for each of us.

The sisters also make it clear to me that this love quotient, the 528 Hz that is taking up residence in our physical bodies, is also very present in our dwelling spaces, our homes, our work places, our communities and in our connections with others. This resonance is a palpable force of energy that others feel, see and appreciate as a sense of home now.

“You are beginning to be seen in all your glory as the radiance of divine love emanates from your heart-core.” –Seven Sisters

This radiance of love, and the path of the high-heart that will lead the way for us and humanity, is also showing up in how we are suddenly able to express ourselves as bearers of truth in that it is becoming nearly impossible to dim our lights, to hold back our inner knowing, or anything that highlights inauthenticity or provides a guiding light for others.

The truth is coming out so strongly now that it can appear to be ruthless, but this only
happens where ruthless is required….and sometimes it just is. I have never been one to mince words, so for me personally, this new level of truth-telling has been really hard to tame. What I noticed thru many failed attempts is that we can apply our spiritual mastery and utilize the art of compassion by doing our best to beautify, or soften the truth & deliver it with love…but the truth is that some truth is just not soft or beautiful or graceful…even when it is delivered with love. No matter, time to tell the truth anyway. The good news is that in the past, we may have shuttered at the venomous backlash of holding a mirror up to others, but somehow, its not so scary anymore. And besides,
holding back the truth is starting to feel way worse than any stink-eye ever could.

“To this we way, the time is now to unwaveringly speak your truth, to flow with your cultivated wisdoms and to allow others in to see the glimmer of hope for a new way.” -Seven Sisters
The front runners of new humanity are about to come out into the open to provide a path of choice for those who are ready and willing to embrace the radiance of LOVE. Not in

the sense that we will have to summons these souls, propagate our knowledge or convince anyone of our truth, but that we will have the gift of home, of fulfillment, of purpose, of joy, of creative passion, of LOVE to share with all those who are ready to receive it.

“From our perspective, many changes will be in place by the next new moon so that you

will be in a position of greater clarity and preparedness for the immensely anticipated year of 2012″ -Seven Sisters

See you thru the next gateway!

Lauren
