We should be aware of a really interesting event on Tuesday, November 13 which is a rare total Solar Eclipse in Scorpio. Usually these run in 9 year cycles. However, interestingly the last Solar Eclipse in Scorpio was as long ago as 1995! This eclipse is at 21 degrees 56 minutes Scorpio. This is the first time we have had a total Solar Eclipse since July 2010 and we won’t have another until March 2015. The actual time of the Solar Eclipse is 3:35 p.m. ET November 13 but it’s effects can last for up to three years.
Another interesting point is that it makes a conjunction with the North Node. This is definitely signalling a time of new beginning in a hopeful way if we work with these energies. It's good if we all can strive to cooperate with this by beginning something new and positive and spiritually uplifting in our lives around this time. However, we should remember, with all the planets that are currently in Scorpio - the Sun, Moon, North Node and Saturn - it is about healing things from the past before making a new start. Around this time, and for several weeks or months afterwards, beware of things coming up for review. Look at the house in your Natal chart that is ruled by Scorpio; this is where you are likely to see this taking place. Transformation can take place but only if we allow it to.
Scorpio takes us down into dark places in order to release things that are holding us back; once we release them we can make way for the new . It is the sign of alchemy and what we need to do is an alchemical process; a healing process in our own psyche - and also by extension, in the world. I am hopeful because of supportive aspects from other planets - a Neptune trine to Saturn and Chiron sextile Saturn. We are being encouraged to bring our dreams to earth; to make practical use of our spirituality; to restructure our lives for the better.
We shouldn't forget that Mercury is still retrograde in Sagittarius, encouraging us to be philosophical about what's going on. To not get drawn in but to look at things from a higher perspective, with faith that there is a plan for each and everyone of us.
We should, though, expect some shake ups. That is what Solar Eclipses do; they cause a shift and accelerate things, with the theme of the sign in which they appear. Their effects can last three years, and the next three years (2012-2015) are watershed years in our lives; extremely important for all of us so it's important now we make this shift; go deeper so that transformation can take place. To be forewarned is to be forearmed; Scorpio shifts things from deep, often dark places and so can bring fear to the surface to. Be optimistic and hopeful and don't attach to the fear; be aware that we are going through a process of change if we allow it.
This will be affecting our most intimate relationships also. Be aware of attempt to dominate or use power.
The sign of Scorpio is where we feel things deeply; it operates at our "core". It has been a long time since the last Solar Eclipse in Scorpio - 17 years. If we have been stuffing our most painful experiences, fears, guilts, jealousies, down deep inside us during these past 17 years and they have been lying there as silt at the bottom of our emotional river, now the Solar Eclipse can cause a flood, flushing the silt out. Perhaps this is not a very picturesque analogy but I am trying describe the potentially magical or alchemical process that can take place. It is a time to release,to heal and to bring to consciousness what has lain dormant within us, holding us back.
