Goddess Hathor was revered as the goddess of love, beauty, music, dancing, fertility, and motherhood. She is often associated with the Greek goddess Aphrodite. Hathor has magical associations with the sky, the sun, and the afterlife. Hathor is a protector of women, especially during childbirth. She is often depicted as a woman with cow ears and horns, or a woman with a headdress featuring cow horns and a sun disk. She is associated with the West, where the sun sets and the as "Hathor-of-the-West," she played a role in the afterlife, helping deceased souls in their journey.
