The Slavery Wound is an inherited, collective trauma that is rooted in the dark history of humanity over many centuries if not thousands of years. The slavery wound is a deep psychic trauma that many carry due to experiences in other lifetimes and/or experiences carried in the bloodlines.
Slavery is not a new phenomenon and was common in the ancient world. In more recent times the slave trade between the 16th and 19th centuries, carried around 28 million African men and women across the Atlantic to the Americas. Many did not survive the long journey, many did not survive the hardships and hard toil they faced in the North and South Americas.

The Slavery Wound can manifest in our lives in different ways including:
• Learned helplessness, inherited depression, anxiety, PTSD,
• Feeling marginalised in society,
• Strong sense of anger, a desire to rebel against the system,
• Living in fear, not feeling safe in the world,
• Fear of punishment and persecution,
• A deep sense of injustice/feeling wronged,
• Self-limitation and self-sabotage programming,
• Experiencing abuse or violence in the current lifetime,
• Fearing one’s own light and power.
