..that at some point it may serve you to decide that
a particular project or undertaking is complete.

Seeking excellence is one thing; never finding
anything totally satisfactory is another.

It is as I have told you before:
Perfection is the obstacle of creation
and the enemy of achievement.

At some point you've got to say, "This is good.

And this is enough." If you cannot do this, you will
never get anything done -- and that is the opposite
of what you want, is it not?

...that you are a pure child of God, beautiful in your innocence -- and
That this is true no matter what you may have done.

There is no offense you could ever commit that can rob you of your
magnificence, or of the wonder of who you are. Yet who
among us hasn't fallen from the path, betrayed another, acted
unwisely, fallen prey to temptation, given in to a craving or addiction?

All of us are human. And in God's eyes that makes us perfect.
Really. Just the way we are. Like 3-year-olds, looking anxiously
up at some elder, wondering with quivering lips whether we'll get
a spanking for breaking the rules...

The 3-year-old is beautiful in her innocence. He is pure as snow,
and there is simply something that has not been totally understood,
or fully integrated into behavior yet. It's okay. We don't mean to
be "bad." And in truth, we aren't. Not a one of us.

We're simply, sometimes, mistaken. And God loves us anyway.
Immensely. Completely. Eternally.
Just as we are.
Oh, and by the way, ...you already know
the reason that this particular reminder
came to you today...

...that when a loved one leaves the body, it is a cause
for a genuine and special joy.

It can be difficult to experience this joy over the death of
a lovedone, and sadness is both perfectly natural and very
"okay." Yet know this: your Beloved is celebrating
Continuation Day. This is the most glorious experience you
could possibly imagine. It is, truly, heaven!

And there is this: You will once again reunite with the soul
of this loved one. Nor will you ever be separate even now,
for their Essence flies to you at your very thought of them. I
would not tell you this were it not true.

...that no one does anything they do not want to do.

You always have a reason--and usually, a pretty good one--
for doing what you are doing and choosing what you are
choosing. Be careful not to convince yourself that you are
doing something against your will. Such a thing is impossible.

Therefore, be honest with yourself as to why you are choosing
to do a particular thing. Then, do it gladly, knowing that you
are always getting to do what you want. The statement "I have
no choice" is a lie. You can choose. You simply do not prefer
the alternatives available to you, for whatever reason. So you
select the outcome that you most prefer. Isn't that power?

...that nobody needs your help.

I know, I know...this is a difficult one. But it is true. Yet
this does not mean no one wants your help, or that noone
could use your help. It simply means the thought that another
Aspect of Divinity is powerless without you is inaccurate.

Do not do something, therefore, because you think someone
else needs you. That only builds resentment. Do whatever
you do as a means of deciding, declaring, creating, and
experiencing who you are--and who you choose to be. Then
you will never feel victimized, powerless, or without choice.

Yes? You see how simple it all is? Get out of victimhood.

..that the greatest enemy of individual freedom is the
individual himself.

Saul Alinsky said that, and he was right. In almost every
case, nothing is stopping you, nothing is holding you back
but your own thoughts about yourself and about "how life is."

Your personal freedom to experience yourself and life
as you wish is not being limited. Step into your choices
and stop telling yourself that you can't, when what you
really mean is that you don't want other people to feel the
way you think that are going to feel when they see you making
the choices you really want to make. Got it?

...that you are deeply loved by God.

Do you know that? I mean, do you really know that?

Because if you do, you will move through life without
fear. You will know that only Perfection can occur.

Yes, yes, I know, sometimes the things that occur don't
look perfect...but that is only a matter of perspective.

Because you can't see Perfection does not mean it is not
there. Give it Time. It will show itself for sure. Then you
will again smile at God's love...and how it plays out.

For now, trust that it will. Always. And in all ways. I

...that medical procedures are nothing to be afraid of when God is on your side.

And that, of course, is always. So, since God is on your side, nothing can go wrong. Even if you should die, nothing will have gone wrong. Death is not the end of anything. It is simply your Continuation Day.

With regard to medicine then, and to all medical matters, follow your heart, listen to your soul, get good advice, then do what feels intuitively right.

Charles Caleb Colton said that, and he was right. Therefore, since there is no One Way to find happiness, why not find it the way that appeals most to you? Why not follow your passion --- even if others tell you that you are crazy for trying it?

Is someone telling you that now? Don't listen. Don't listen to that! The voice of caution knows nothing of real joy. What joy is there is doing what there was no doubt you could do? Where's the excitement in that? Hey, try something that you could fail at. Now that's living.

...that helping family is the greatest joy.

Let no family member go without, or be in real need, if you have what they lack. Share of your abundance. Even if you think you are not abundant, share what little you think you have. What else is the point of having something if you don't share it? To use it for yourself, and yourself alone? Would that be the point?

I don't think so. In fact, that would miss the point of all of life.

And while we are thinking of family...could we think of all people as members of our family? Now there's a thought that would change the world overnight...

...that the sage awakes to light in the night of all creatures. That which the
world calls day is the night of ignorance to the wise.

The Bhagavad Gita says that, and it is right. This scripture means that when all creatures are living in the illusion of darkness, the sage sees things as they really are, and awakes to that vision, praising the perfection.

Conversely, what the world calls "day" (or "bright" or "real") is an illusion...the "night of ignorance"...to the wise person who sees how pointless and worthless the shiny stuff of life that most people seek truly is.

Peer deeply into the darkness, then, and you will see the light. Yet turn away from the brightness of what others call "day", for they mistake the bright for the good.

that it is time for you to give your mind a respite, a retreat from all the illusions of your Every Day.

How long has it been since you paid attention -- real attention -- to your soul? There are many ways to nourish the soul, but you often must stop, just simply stop, life as you are living it...if only for an hour or a day or a week...and take some time to gift your soul. Or, more accurately, to allow your soul to gift you.

Is there a book you have been dying to read? A personal growth workshop you wish you could take? A lecture you hope you can fit into your busy life? Do it. Do it now. You think you can't afford the time or the money? I tell you, you can't afford not to.
