two sons of an old man

two sons of an old man:

once upon a time
there was an old man
and his two sons.

the older son
was very strong minded and was also hard headed
and had a very logical scienticfic mind.
he believed in:
WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET.

He had no faith, and never left anything to chances.

if he wanted something he wanted it now
and he strived hard for it.

the young son was much more flexible,
had an open mind, believed in faith, faith in the goodness of his parent towards him and was patience for results in his efforts.

when the old man was close to dying
he said to his old son,
"son i know you have a very precious head,
and i know you like to preserve your head for as long as you can live;
i am worried that your head might get hurt by accident
and you will lose the faculty of your head.

i have spent my life time
looking for the metal that can withstand any kind of brutal force and i have used it to make you a helmet out of it.

i like you to have this hard hat so you can wear and be worry free
for your head from getting hurt"

to the young son,
the old man said,
"son, i did not have much time left in life fidning you a suitable hat
that i can present you with.

so knowing that you are flexible i know you will forgive me
for presenting you with my old hat
in which i have saved all the sunshine of my life time.

i want you to wear this hat daily
to protect your head from the rain and from the sun.

soon the old man died
and the old son was very happy that
he got from his father
a real hat of substance
that will protect his hard head.

the young son too was happy that
he had the hat of his father
in which a lot of memories were buried in
together with the sun shine.

soon both the sons moved away
from the place of their birth.

both sons worked very heard
to accumulate wealth.
the old son fell on hard times.

he had no faith
so there was not much hope for him.
he had to be practical
so
being so broke and was down to the last penny
he had to sell the unique hard hat his father gave him,
to survive.

without the protection of the hat
his head was soon injured
and he died from the head injury.

the young son too
fell on hard times.

but he had faith
that his father would look after him.
so he survived on hope against hope.

one day
as he was scratching his head hard
with his hat on
he notice a small white object attached to the inside of the head.
upon closer inspection
he found it was a nice looking pearl.

when he had the pearl appraised and sold
he got a fortune
far more than
he could ever worked for,
the faith he had in his father paid off.

that's how the story goes, folks.

a story of an old man and two hats.
