🌀 A total solar eclipse in Leo is usually talked about as the moment you finally step forward and let yourself be seen, and I understand why, because Leo is the sign of the visible self and an eclipse is one of the loudest things the sky ever does. But it isn't landing that way for me this year. What keeps coming through instead is a long stretch of waiting—not stuck and not lost, but actually watching for what was worth responding to—and then finding the work was already there the whole time. Nothing got built during the waiting. It only stopped being covered.

So while this moves the way a guided meditation moves, it is in fact an uncovering. We ground all the way down before anything opens, call your energy home, and then turn to the back of the body—because the front is the part that does the presenting, and the back of the heart is the surface nobody has looked at, including you.

🌙 The eclipse peaks at 12:36pm CT on August 12, sun and moon together at nineteen degrees of Leo—the first solar eclipse in Leo since 2019, with Jupiter in the same sign and a fire trine to Saturn in Aries. It falls on the releasing point of the moon's path, the node associated with what is being completed rather than what is being started, so the sky isn't describing a launch. It's describing an uncovering. And for all but a couple of minutes of an eclipse you cannot look at it without a filter, which means the only moment it's safe to look directly is the moment it's covered.
