This meditation is aimed at unifying the lower and higher minds. This is done to harness the energy of the lower mind without suppressing its natural wilful energy. The lower mind is like a number of wild horses sometimes pulling in different directions. The higher mind is like the charioteer who harnesses the energy of the horses.
