The rocks which form the earth, the moon and the planets are made up of minerals. Minerals are solid substances composed of atoms having a regular and systematic arrangement. This orderly atomic arrangement is the criterion of the crystalline state and it means also that it is possible to express the composition of a mineral as a scientific chemical formula.
CRYSTAL HEALING
The healing properties of crystals have been recognised and harnessed for thousands of years. The ancients, who perceived crystals as being sacred and magical, were experts in their use, employing crystals for such purposes as protection, adornment, healing and for seeing into the future.
Crystals were abundant in Egyptian tombs and temples and were frequently worn and carried by ancient Egyptians as amulets and charms. Crystals are frequently referred to in Greek mythology, and have also been discovered in the tombs of Chinese rulers. Native Americans used crystals extensively in their ceremonies and initiations, as did the Mayans and Aztecs. Crystals are referred to more than two hundred times in the Bible.The beauty, magic and enormous power of crystals have fascinated humankind
throughout the ages, and we still incorporate them in jewellery today.
Some benefits of crystal healing include:

CRYSTAL CONFIGURATIONS
Here are a few examples of some crystal configurations:
CLUSTERS
A cluster can be placed in one's environment to change the energy to a more positive one. It will cleanse and transmute lower energies to higher energies and balance out the room. Clusters can be used in group work, with each termination being programmed for a specific group member.
GEODES
When a group of crystals grow together and fill a small hollow, a geode is formed. Geodes are good for healing, spiritual growth and protection.
EGGS AND HEARTS
Eggs and Hearts are crystals which have been shaped and polished. They are good for meditation and healing. They are fantastic for crystal massage, since they are so smooth. You can also use them to scan the auric field.
SPHERES AND CRYSTAL BALLS
Spheres send energy in all directions. They can be used for scrying, so that
one can find out information about a certain situation in their lives.
They are good for closing gaps in the auric field and for healing. They
can be used for deep tissue massage.
PYRAMIDS
Pyramids amplify energy through their apex. They focus energy in a tight beam and can be used to charge or preserve objects.
WATER
Wands are useful for removing lower energies and bringing in higher energies.
They help to heal the auric field. Their pointed end can be used for
reflexology and acupressure, and their rounder end can be used for
massage.
SINGLE TERMINATED CRYSTALS
Single terminated crystals have one flat end and one pointed end. The energy
is usually concentrated in the pointed end. These crystals are good for
healing work.
DOUBLE TERMINATED CRYSTALS
Double terminated crystals have points at both ends, which enables energy to
move in one or both directions. These crystals are great for healing
and protection and their energy flow is powerful. They can be used
during a full body layout to link up the energy of other crystals.
FACETED CRYSTALS
The energy flow from faceted crystals is a higher and more focused
vibration of light and intensity. Each facet enables the stone to
capture more light, which will be internally reflected, displaying the
stone's depth and colour.
PHANTOM CRYSTALS
Ghost-like outlines may be seen in some quartz crystals, which are called phantom
crystals. They can be used for healing, stress, past life exploration
and ascension.
TUMBLED CRYSTAL
Tumble stones are crystals that have been tumble polished until they are
smooth. They can be used as a massage tool or placed together in body
layouts. They are useful as pocket stones, worry stones and jewellery.
PREPARING CRYSTALS FOR USE
CLEANSING YOUR CRYSTALS
It is important to cleanse crystals right after you buy/receive them, and
before and after each time that you use them. They pick up energies
from everywhere that they have been, and from everyone who has touched
them, so they need to be cleansed regularly.
Here are some cleansing methods you can try:
CLEANSING WITH LIGHT
Hold the crystals in your left hand. Visualise/bring down white light from
Source to wash away any lower energies in the crystals. Visualise the
lower energies being taken away (you can use your right hand to remove
them) and give them to Source. Bring down more white light and put it
into the crystals to charge them. You can say something like "you are
now perfectly cleansed and energised". This is the quickest and easiest
way to cleanse crystals.
WATER CLEANSING
Take your crystals to a natural source of water, such as the ocean, a
waterfall, a spring or a stream and immerse them in the running water.
You can also use bottled mineral water. Allow your crystals to dry
naturally. They like being dried in the sun.
SALT WATER CLEANSING
It is best not to allow your crystals to come into direct contact with
salt, as it may damage them. If you really want to use salt, fill a
dish with salt and cold water. Place your crystals in another smaller
dish which you can put inside the larger dish.
EARTH AND RICE CLEANSING
You can bury your crystals in the earth and leave them for 24 hours. Once
you dig them up, wash them in clean water and dry them naturally.
Bury your crystals for 24 hours in a bowl of uncooked brown rice. This is
just as effective as the earth. Do not eat the rice afterwards.
FIRE CLEANSING
Surround your crystals with small candles which you can leave to go out
naturally. You can also pass your crystal through the flame quickly.
Check to make sure each crystal is safe to be cleansed using fire.
SMUDGING
Smudge sticks are bundles of bound plant materials - usually herbs, such as
Sage. Sage is good for removing lower energies. Pass the crystals
through the smoke of the smudge stick to cleanse them.
CLEANSING WITH OTHER CRYSTALS
You can place your crystals on a bed of quartz or amethyst for a few hours.
CLEANSING WITH ESSENTIAL OILS
Put a drop of essential oil onto a piece of cloth and rub it over the
surface of the crystals. You can also use essential oil in an oil
burner and pass the crystals through the vapour whilst the oil is being
heated.
CLEANSING WITH ESSENCE SPRAYS
You can buy a crystal cleansing spray that you just spray on your crystals
to cleanse and energise them. You can also use aura sprays and angel
sprays.
SOUND CLEANSING
You can put your crystals inside a singing bowl while it is being played.
Alternatively, you can play the singing bowl over the top of your
crystals. Why not try singing and toning to your crystals too!
PROGRAMMING/DEDICATING YOUR CRYSTALS
After you cleanse your crystals, you can program them. An example of this is to hold your crystals and say:
"I now program these crystals for the highest good of all. You will work
for the light and only the light, under the Law of Grace, So Be It."
ATTUNING TO YOUR CRYSTALS
To attune to your crystals, hold them in your hand and tune into them. Bring white light from your root chakra up through your hara line to the crown chakra. Bring the white light out of the crown chakra and spread it over your aura like angel wings. Bring this light back into your root chakra and repeat until you have attuned to your crystals.
