Bone collectors: Inside the creepy crypt of 1,000 skulls under a Northamptonshire church

The secrets of a creepy crypt holding more than 1,000 skulls and bones have been revealed. The 13th century crypt under the Holy Trinity Church in Rothwell, Northamptonshire, has been a source of great mystery and intrigue for villagers in the market town. The spooky collection is not the remains of soldiers or victims of the plague as it was once thought, but a place of memorial for superstitious pilgrims who wished to pray among the bones of their ancestors.

Have you ever been in the situation where you'd like to open a bottle of wine but you can't get hold of a corkscrew for love nor money?

Well I have and I always used to try to force the cork INTO the bottle. Until I picked up this rather nifty trick.

CAUTION: THIS MAN IS A WINE 'PROFESSIONAL' AND HAS OPENED MORE BOTTLES OF WINE THAN HIS WIFE WOULD CARE TO REMEMBER. PLEASE USE EXTREME CAUTION WHEN TRYING THIS METHOD YOURSELF AS IT MAY LEAD TO WALL AND/OR PERSONAL DAMAGE. I.E. THE BOTTLE COULD SHATTER OR THE WALL COULD FALL DOWN.

'After the Final Curtain': Haunting photos capture the derelict shells of U.S. theatres

They were once packed out entertainment venues decorated with stunning architecture, but these neglected American theatres have since fallen into disrepair.

Photographer Matt Lambros documented the sad decline of 57 formerly thriving theatres as part of his 'After the Final Curtain' project.

He travelled thousands of miles across the US, photographing crumbling venues in New York, Michigan and Massachusetts, among others, years after they stopped welcoming visitors.

A Zen master had a faithful but very naive student who regarded him as a living buddha. One day the master accidentally sat down on a needle. He screamed “Ouch!” and jumped into the air. The student instantly lost all his faith and left, saying how disappointed he was to find that his master was not fully enlightened. Otherwise, he thought, how could he jump up and scream out loud like that? The master was sad when he realized his student had left, and said: “Alas, poor man! If only he had known that in reality neither I, nor the needle, nor the ‘ouch’ really existed.”

Remember the example of an old cow:
She’s content to sleep in a barn.
You have to eat, sleep and shit—
That’s unavoidable—anything
Beyond that is none of your business.
Do what you have to do
And keep yourself to yourself.

Of all the practices I know, the practice of Tonglen, Tibetan for “giving and receiving,” is one of the most useful and powerful. When you feel yourself locked in upon yourself, Tonglen opens you to the truth of the suffering of others; when your heart is blocked, it destroys those forces that are obstructing it; and when you feel estranged from the person who is in pain before you, or bitter or despairing, it helps you to find within yourself and then to reveal the loving, expansive radiance of your own true nature. No other practice I know is as effective in destroying the self-grasping, self-cherishing, self-absorption of the ego, which is the root of all our suffering and all hard-heartedness.

Put very simply, the Tonglen practice of giving and receiving is to take on the suffering and pain of others and give to them your happiness, well-being, and peace of mind.

10900609853?profile=originalFebruary 15
I know very well from my own experience how hard it is to imagine taking on the sufferings of others, and especially those of sick and dying people, without first building in yourself a strength and confidence of compassion. It is this strength and this confidence that will give your practice the power to transmute the suffering of others.

This is why I always recommend that you begin the Tonglen practice for others by first practicing it on yourself. Before you can send out love and compassion to others, you must uncover, deepen, create, and strengthen them in yourself, and heal yourself of any reticence or distress or anger or fear that might create an obstacle to practicing Tonglen wholeheartedly.

To integrate meditation in action is the whole ground and point and purpose of meditation. The violence and stress and the challenges and distractions of this modern life make this integration urgently necessary.

How do we achieve this integration, this permeation of everyday life with the calm humor and spacious detachment of meditation? There is no substitute for regular practice, for only through real practice will we begin to taste unbrokenly the calm of our nature of mind and so be able to sustain the experience of it in our everyday lives.

If you really wish to achieve this, what you need to do is practice not just as occasional medicine or therapy but as if it were your daily sustenance or food.

10900609853?profile=originalFebruary 17
As we follow the teachings and as we practice, we will inevitably discover certain truths about ourselves that stand out prominently: There are places where we always get stuck; there are habitual patterns and strategies that are the legacy of negative karma, which we continuously repeat and reinforce; there are particular ways of seeing things—those tired old explanations of ourselves and the world around us—that are quite mistaken yet which we hold onto as authentic, and so distort our whole view of reality.

When we persevere on the spiritual path, and examine ourselves honestly, it begins to dawn on us more and more that our perceptions are nothing more than a web of illusions. Simply to acknowledge our confusion, even though we cannot accept it completely, can bring some light of understanding and spark off in us a new process, a process of healing.

10900609853?profile=originalFebruary 18
We all have the karma to take one spiritual path or another, and I would encourage you, from the bottom of my heart, to follow with complete sincerity the path that inspires you most.

If you go on searching all the time, the searching itself becomes an obsession and takes you over. You become a spiritual tourist, bustling about and never getting anywhere. As Patrul Rinpoche says: “You leave your elephant at home and look for its footprints in the forest.” Following one teaching is not a way of confining you or jealously monopolizing you. It’s a compassionate and practical way of keeping you centered and always on your path, despite all the obstacles that you, and the world, will inevitably present.

10900609853?profile=originalFebruary 19
At the moment of death, there are two things that count: whatever we have done in our lives, and what state of mind we are in at that very moment. Even if we have accumulated a lot of negative karma, if we are able to make a real change of heart at the moment of death, it can decisively influence our future, and transform our karma, for the moment of death is an exceptionally powerful opportunity to purify karma.

10900609853?profile=originalFebruary 20
A meditation technique used a great deal in Tibetan Buddhism is uniting the mind with the sound of a mantra. The definition of mantra is “that which protects the mind.” That which protects the mind from negativity, or which protects you from your own mind, is mantra.

When you are nervous, disoriented, or emotionally fragile, inspired chanting or reciting of a mantra can change the state of your mind completely, by transforming its energy and atmosphere. How is this possible? Mantra is the essence of sound, the embodiment of the truth in the form of sound. Each syllable is impregnated with spiritual power, condenses a deep spiritual truth, and vibrates with the blessing of the speech of the buddhas.

It is also said that the mind rides on the subtle energy of the breath, the prana, which moves through and purifies the subtle channels of the body. So when you chant a mantra, you are charging your breath and energy with the energy of the mantra, and so working directly on your mind and your subtle body.

10900609853?profile=originalFebruary 21
The mantra I recommend to my students is:
OM AH HUM VAJRA GURU PADMA SIDDHI HUM

Tibetans say: “Om Ah Hung Benza Guru Péma Siddhi Hung,” which is the mantra of Padmasambhava, the mantra of all the buddhas, masters, and realized beings, and is uniquely powerful for peace, for healing, for transformation, and for protection in this violent, chaotic age.

Recite the mantra quietly, with deep attention, and let your breath, the mantra, and your awareness slowly become one. Or chant it in an inspiring way, then rest in the profound silence that sometimes follows.

The wonders of the world: Eight bizarre natural phenomena

Nature can behave in peculiar ways - and the following list only proves this. From destructive supercell storms that are terrifying to behold to the incredible sight of the Northern Lights, here are a few examples of nature's most peculiar phenomena.

10900597083?profile=originalThis awe-inspiring picture is of volcanic lightning while the Shinmoedake volcano in Japan erupts. The reasons behind the phenomenon are not well understood but scientists believe it occurs when charged fine ash particles emitted from the volcano clash with ice particles in the clouds - which in turn creates lighting. (Photo by Sipa Press/REX)

10900597473?profile=originalBioluminescent shores: The stunning blue glow seen in the waves here in California is the result of an algae bloom (or red tide). The other-worldly aqua colour is a product of the marine microbes which have gathered there, called phytoplanton. The micro-organisms glow blue when affected by stress - such as the presence of a surfer or when waves crash onto the shore. (Photo by KeystoneUSA-ZUMA/REX)

10900598653?profile=originalThe Aurora Borealis, or Northern Lights as it is more popularly known, has inspired millions of people to travel to the far north to see the shimmering spectacle. The beautiful dance of light occurs when particles from the Earth's atmosphere collide with charged particles from the sun. A similar occurance occurs in the southern hemisphere, called Aurora Australis. (Orn Oskarsson/Solent News/REX)

10900599257?profile=originalThis menacing cloud is a supercell storm. It is a thunderstorm with a mesocyclone - a rotating movement of air. A supercell storm forms where cold dry air meets warm moist air. It can produce tornadoes, hail the size of golfballs and heavy rain. The destructive phenomenon can last for several hours. (Photo by Marko Korosec/Solent News/REX)

10900600065?profile=original'Sun dogs' - halos, often with bright spots, that forms in the sky around the sun - behave in a similar way to rainbows. This beautiful sight is caused when sunlight is bent after hitting ice crystals in a cloud. The ice crystal acts as a prism and separates the sunlight into different colours to form a sun dog. When rainbows form it is because raindrops, not ice crystals, act as a prism. (WestEnd61/REX)

10900600480?profile=originalFire Rainbow: The technical term is 'Pileus cloud' and it appears when sunlight passes through ice crystals in a cirrus clouds. If the light and cloud particles are perfectly aligned the crystals behave like a prism and refract the light - in what looks like a rainbow. The sun needs to be very high in the sky for this phenomenon to occur. (KeystoneUSA-ZUMA/REX)

10900600882?profile=originalRed tide (or algae bloom) may look like the scene of a massacre - but it is when colonies of algae grow rapidly - causing the water to turn a deep red. Red tides can be harmful to marine life, birds and even people, either due to toxins produced by the algae, or a lack of oxygen in the water. (KeystoneUSA-ZUMA/REX)

10900601699?profile=originalThey may look like normal clouds but Asperatus Clouds are so rare they were only proposed as a 'new' classification of cloud in 2009 after extensive study. Typically found in Iowa, they look storm-like, resembling the surface of the sea, but they tend to disappear without a storm forming. (FLPA/Andrew Bailey/REX)

What is officially known regarding the "Pulsating Orbs of Light" UFO's?

The UK Ministry of Defense has revealed the following....

Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) in the UK Air Defence Region
http://www.mod.uk/defenceinternet/fre...

That Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon (UAP or UFO) Exist is indisputable. Credited with the ability to hover, land, take off, accelerate to astonishing velocities and vanish. They can reportedly alter their direction of flight suddenly and clearly can exhibit aerodynamics characteristics well beyond those of any known aircraft or missile - either manned or unmanned.

The Conditions for the initial formation and sustaining of what are apparently buoyant charged masses (of Plasma), which can form, separate, merge, hover, climb, dive, and accelerate are not completely understood.

Dependent on a color's temperature and aerosol density, it may be seen visually, either by it self generated plasma color, by reflected light, or silhouette by light blockage and background contrast.

Occasionally and perhaps exceptionally, it seems a field with, undetermined characteristics can exist between certain charged buoyant objects in loose formation, the intervening space between them forms an area, viewed as a shape, often Triangular, from which the reflection of light does not occur. This is a key finding in the attribution of what have frequently been called black "Craft", often triangular and up to hundreds of feet in length. - The UK Ministry of Defence

Follow the Path of Your Joy ~ A Message From Talia Of The Council For The Assistance To Earth ~ via Isis-Neith
Posted: 03 Sep 2013 08:30 PM PDT

10900600083?profile=originalcouncilfortheassistancetoearth-com.webs.com

I am Talia of the Council for the Assistance to Earth. Greetings.

I spoke last week about stepping out of the fear of what other people think of you and standing in your own power, but I feel that I must continue to talk to you about the freedom that this entails, because I realize that there are those who think that to step out of needing to please others is not a good quality.

I want you to understand that you are worthy of anything good and I want you to understand that when you put yourself second you deny the universe the privilege of giving you the good that you deserve because you are saying to it very loudly through your energy and matching actions that you don’t truly deserve the good it has stored for you.

What the universe looks for is someone who deeply feels through and through that they are worthy!

What the universe looks for and feels out for is someone who holds the energy of self value!
What the universe wants for every person is all the love and goodness that they desire to be part of their experience and a constant expression of their life. Not only a constant mental and emotional expression but a constant physical one too, and you should be living a life that is joyous and living to the fullest, not selling yourself short because another is not accepting what you want out of life when they are not even living your life. Only you are living your life!

Don’t make excuses.

When you want something deeply you find a way or you regret never finding it. Do not let other people stop you when they are not in agreement with what you value and want and hold dear to have for yourself. You are not another person, so don’t try to persuade another not to do the thing that they love either.

As a for instance and one that is a cliché on Earth and so you will most easily relate to it, the dancer who loves what they do more than anything including money and the parent who really wants the best for their child, but doesn’t understand that the best for their child is living joyously and the money must follow the person who lives full and joyously!

When you are full of joy you are a river overflowing with abundance of all sorts; you are destined to be in alignment with everything you are!

The river of joyous living and an abundant mind flows to the heart of the person who trusts their own desires and puts themselves in the places that give them more joy! Always follow your passion, no matter what anyone else wants from you or for you! Always follow who you are and put your joy above needing to give joy to others! Everybody is responsible for their own power, for their own love, for their own abundance, for their own joy!

Everybody is responsible for only themselves and not to complete another or give to another something that they haven’t found inside theirself!

Everybody is meant to find the river of joyous movement, meaning the river that never stops moving and that pushes you forward in the moment when you find your own power which is your passion and your joy! Your joy is your driving force, the force for living to the fullest you possible. Love is a high emotion, passion is a high emotion. If you want to move into a higher vibration you must follow the path of your joy!

WHAT BRINGS YOU JOY?

WISDOM'S (MOTHER GOD'S) *WE ARE ONE SELF-REFLECTION MEDITATION* -- In English and Chinese! via Janisel of Project: Eagle Triad

WE ARE ONE SELF-REFLECTION MEDITATION WISDOM (Mother God) channeled through Janisel of Project: Eagle Triad To Begin Today for the Next 7 Days, 15 Minutes or More Per Day

I greet My Children this day and surround you in My Heavenly Light. I Am your Mother God, known to this one as 'Wisdom', although known by other names on other Paths. As you truthfully have been told, the Earth is also your Mother, but I AM your Original Mother, the Mother of not your body, as is the Earth, but, rather, the Mother of your Soul. You have also been truly told of the Holy Trinity, yes? ...being the Father Spirit, the Sonship Spirit, and the Holy or Feminine Spirit, although carrying perhaps different names within different spiritual beliefs. And, as participants in Lord Ashtar's project, most of you are also part of a trinity, yes? I have come to give to you, Our Eagles, something to meditate on and integrate into your Knowingness during your next week, and that is the concept of another Holy Trinity.

The three points on this Trinity are the Godhead, your solar Sun, and the Earth. And, indeed, these three do create a Holy Trinity. I desire that you meditate this coming week on being in the very center of that Holy Trinity, as you would see yourself standing in the center of a triangle.

1) Pull the energy of the Father God, represented by the Sun, into your Being as if absorbing the brilliant rays of the Sun into your body. 2) Then, pull the energies of the Mother God, represented by your beautiful Earth, up through your own physical body. 3) Lastly, call upon the energies of the Godhead to anchor within your entire Being, meeting there with the energies of your Sun and your planet. As these energies merge within you, it does indeed create a Most Holy Trinity…with your own Blessed Self as the Center of It. Feel our Oneness, feel our Love one for another. There is no separation. We are One and We are Whole. And I AM with each and every one of you at all times. Call on me. I will surely Answer. For I/We surround you at all times. We reflect to you, in every moment, Who you Are. Look up to the heavens; we are there, showing you your Brightness through the Sun and the nightly stars. Look down and around, we are there in the Earth and the lifeforms around you, showing you both your weaknesses and your strengths. As you look into the eyes of another, can you not see Our Light, though seemingly hidden deep? Can you look into those eyes and acknowledge My Presence inside that one? Can you look upon a tree and see it as Me in one of My Forms of Expression? If so, then you can understand Oneness. It is a Knowing and an Acknowledgment that every lifeform you see, be it rock, tree, animals, humans, or your brothers and sisters from the stars, is not only your Mother/Father God in Expression, but also a reflection of YOU, for We are All the Same; we are One-ness refracted into its various parts. That is why it is said that when you behold another you are meeting yourself…a 'you' in another body or form. For this reason, look upon all you see as Holy, for truly it is. Do you now see why you must truly love those you deem as your enemies in order to fully love yourself AND your Self? Therefore, look upon all with Holy Vision. You must also now realize why it was said, "Judge not, lest ye be judged." For truly I say to you, when you judge another, you judge yourself AND your Self, for your brother or sister is not only Me in Expression, he/she is another form of YOU, yourself in expression. You/We are ONE. You are surrounded by nothing more than reflections of yourself, much like in your 'Fun House of Mirrors'. Some of your reflections may seem distorted, out of shape with the way you think your body to be, perhaps too short, too tall, too thin, or too fat. But do you pronounce judgment upon yourself based on these distorted images? Of course not, for you know them to be not real. So why pronounce judgment on another, and thus on yourself, when all you are currently seeing is a distorted image based on an illusion. Can you look upon each of the illusions and say in your heart, "I acknowledge your Essence, my Father/Mother God, as well as my own reflection, in this being", and then love and respect your Selves for Who We Are? Love ALL that you see and perceive, knowing that it is ALL simply an illusion; but that this entire illusion you call Earth life has been created by you, for you, to be a constant reflection and reminder to you of Who you TRULY are outside of the illusion. For it is All One, We are All One, and forever more shall it be. Thank you, my Daughter, for letting me share through you my Words of Truth this day. I surround you always.

ABOUT PROJECT: EAGLE TRIAD
This Project, which is compliant with all Spiritual Paths, consists of doing three 5-minute meditations/visualizations each day, which are given to us from Ashtar, Sananda or others of the higher realms who are assisting us in this endeavor. These are not full-blown 'alpha' meditations, and are designed for even those who are new to meditation in general. These meditations may also be done at one 15-minute sitting if that is more convenient for you. At present, Sananda and Ashtar have everyone working on the same meditation each week, with each meditation being done for 7 days, after which time we are given a new one. As of now, we start each new set of visualizations on Mondays. All those participating in this Project are grouped into 'trinities' (three people working together), however, the members of each trinity do NOT need to do the meditations at the same time as the others. Through their 'intent', their energies will all be sent 'together' to the appropriate grid. It is asked, however, that the members of each trinity stay in touch with each other via email or other means in order to facilitate the higher energetics of Group Mind/Group Heart. ----------------

On this day of your life, I believe God wants you to know...
...that there is a solution to every problem.

Nothing is insoluable. Nothing. Do everything that you
can to avoid the temptation of thinking that what is
facing you now is insurmountable. That is simply not true.

You cannot see the solution, of course, if you are
convinced it is not there. So you must have great faith
in life. Do you have great faith in life? Now would be a
good time to show it. Smile. Relax. It'll all be okay.

You will not have to think more than a second to
know exactly why you received this message today.

On this day of your life, I believe God wants you to know...
...that you will only benefit from resisting the temptation
to think immediately about the worst possible outcome.

When something comes up, when something happens
in your life, that disrupts the easy "flow," it is always
better to bless it than to damn it. Try to see it as nothing
serious. It most cases, it will not be.

Jumping to conclusions mired in negativity only thwarts
the process by which your mind can stay clear, and
thus find a way out of the momentary dilemma.

On this day of your life, I believe God wants you to know...
...that the method of the enterprising is to plan with
audacity and execute with vigor.

Christian Nevell Bovee said that, and it is a valuable
observation. As we experience this holiday season, and
you begin thinking about the New Year ahead, plan
with audacity.

And as you move into the New Year, execute your
plans with vigor. There is excitement in life -- but you
have to put it there.

Incidentally, you may begin executing with vigor right
now. Why wait?

On this day of your life, I believe God wants you to know...
...that it is literally true that you can succeed best and
quickest by helping others to succeed.

Napoleon Hill said that, and he was right. Nothing
ensures success like ensuring another's success. And
there is someone who is looking for your help and
your support today.

Lift that person up, give that person credit, do whatever
you can to help that person be a success. And always
remember: What goes around, comes around.

On this day of your life, I believe God wants you to know...
...that on this New Year's Eve a miracle can occur.

Tonight we ring out the old and ring in the new. And
more--much more--can change than simply the dates
on the calendar. You can resolve this night to change
your entire life...or any aspect of your self and your
experience that you choose.

And should old acquaintance be forgot, and never
brought to mind? No. Keep old friends near, and
old loves dear. For they will help you make those
changes in your life that will produce miracles,
if you let them.

Happy, happy New Year!

Love, Your Friend....

On this day of your life, I believe God wants you to know...
...that every day is a New Beginning.

A new cycle begins this day, yet a new cycle begins
every day. Indeed, every moment. So if you recognize
anything on this day, recognize what it symbolizes: The
miracle of the endlessly continuing Cycle of Life.

What a grand day! What a time for celebration! We
begin again today! We turn the page! And so, let go
of all that you do not wish to carry with you any further.

Any fear, any sadness, any anger, any resentment, any
disappointment, any lament...let it all go. And now,
using the specialness of this day as a springboard,
let's get on with Life!

Love, Your Friend....

10900598079?profile=original

On this day of your life, I believe God wants you to know...
...that it is well to think well. It is divine to act well.

Horace Mann said that, and he was right. Thinking is
just the first step in creation. You've had some
wonderful ideas lately about changes you want to make
in your life. Now it's time to put those thoughts into a
action, yes?

Love, Your Friend....

10900598079?profile=original

On this day of your life, I believe God wants you to know...
...that the opposite of a correct statement is a false
statement. But the opposite of a profound truth may
well be another profound truth.

Niels Bohr said that, and he was right. In fact, there
have been few statements in the history of statement-
making that were more accurate than that one. So be
aware and stay awake! The Law of Opposites
sometimes leads you to a Divine Dichotomy.

Two opposing truths can exist simultaneously in the
same space. Do not therefore assume that That Which
Opposes You is That Which Is Not Good For You.
It may be just the reverse.

Love, Your Friend....

10900598079?profile=original

On this day of your life, I believe God wants you to know...
...that the cycles of life are endless -- and always serve
you, because life is a process that serves Life Itself.

When things seem to be shifting away from you,
moving in the other direction, closing doors,
shutting down opportunities, remember that all things
are cyclical -- including Life Itself.

What you are experiencing is temporary -- whether it's
"good" OR "bad." So stop calling it one thing or the
other, and simply embrace it as What's Happening Now.

You'll move through it all much more peacefully.

And, one day, you'll call it ALL "good."

Love, Your Friend....

10900598079?profile=original

On this day of your life, I believe God wants you to know...
...that as you start the first full work week of the New
Year you should do no 'work' at all.

The point of your activities throughout the day is not to
make a living, but to make a life; not to 'work' but to
create joy. If you are doing what you are doing merely
to 'pay the bills,' you will have missed the major reason
for All Of Life.

The purpose of life is to know and express Who You
Are. If you do other than that during the days and times
of your life, you will have not used those days and times
in a way that profits your soul. It is soul profit we are
after here, not body profit.

This first week of the New Year is a good time to
contemplate that, yes?

Love, Your Friend....

10900598079?profile=original

On this day of your life, I believe God wants you to know...
...that every increased possession
loads us with a new weariness.

John Ruskin said that, and he was right. Life is not
about our physical or material possessions, it is about
the Agenda of our Soul. When material possessions
serve that agenda, they can be wonderful and are to
be celebrated. But if they come between us
and the soul, then we may very well be delayed
on our holy journey.

Our journey is the path back to peace, to harmony,
to deep inner joy, to love, and to God.

Love, Your Friend....

10900598079?profile=original

On this day of your life, I believe God wants you to know...
...that happiness is good health and a bad memory.

Ingrid Bergman said that, and it is so true. Memories,
of course, bring up moments that are past, whereas
happiness is always found in the moment that is here,
now.

Constantly remembering bad things, or sad things, can
rob you of your present -- that is, your pre-sent -- joy.

Happiness has been sent to you in advance by God. It
is here, in this moment, if you will seize it...and share it.

Love, Your Friend....

The Story of The Kogi , excerpt

http://youtu.be/5Z-NDNHw6wQ

Uploaded on 13 Nov 2010
- The Kogi attach great importance to memory. The memory of events with which the community has been confronted, the memory of social regulations within the group and so forth. "Memory," they say, "is like eyes which were made to see. If they close, everything becomes darkness."

For them, this memory cannot be written down, it must be spoken, passed down by members of the group. In writing, memories are separated from the people and lose their effectiveness.

The Kogi view time as cyclical, whereas most of us in the modern world see it as linear. Cyclical time calls for the continual re-creation of the world, as opposed to linear time, which views the past as outdated and generally assumes the future will inevitably be better. Linked to the living world, from which their society takes its collective operating rules, the Kogi celebrate the existence of a vital cycle of birth, maturity, death and re-birth.

In this cyclical life, the fundamental stages of individual and collective life are marked by rituals; specific ceremonies which, through shared experience, allow the integration and the construction of an identity for each individual. Cyclical time also allows individuals their own experience of the world, within the framework of rules made by the elders. It allows each generation to take advantage of this experience, and thus to open up its field of conscience. For the Kogi, conscience is paramount, and this demands watchfulness at all times.

The Power of Patience - by Sharon Salzberg

The Power of Patience
by Sharon Salzberg

[Listen to Audio!]

If we can be quieter, more in the moment with what is actually happening, a world of perception opens up for us based on where we are, not on where we one day hope to be. "Nobody sees a flower, really; it is so small," said artist Georgia O'Keeffe. "We haven't time, and to see takes time, like to have a friend takes time." If we learn to take a little more time and be more fully aware of just where we are, we might see many new flowers and have many more friends.

10900596300?profile=original One way of describing an ability to hold our convictions without drawing premature conclusions, feeling automatically defeated, or losing sight of what goodness life might be offering us today is the old-fashioned virtue patience. Despite the common misconception, having patience doesn't mean making a pact with the devil of denial, ignoring our emotions and aspirations. It means being wholeheartedly engaged in the process that's unfolding, rather than yanking up our carrots, ripping open a budding flower, demanding a caterpillar hurry up and get that chrysalis stage over with.

True patience isn't gritting one's teeth and saying, "I'll bear with this for another five minutes because I'm sure it will be over by then and something better will come along." Patience isn't dour, and it isn't unhappy. It's a steady strength that we apply to each experience we face. If the situation calls for action, we must take it - patience doesn't mean inertia or complacence. Instead, it gives us a courageous dedication to the long haul, along with the willingness to connect with the multilayered truth of what is right here.

Are those of us not naturally blessed with patience doomed to yell at our children or our forgetful parents, litter our office floors with disemboweled computer parts (or at least threaten to), or berate ourselves each time we fail to live up to our own expectations? Or can we cultivate a new way of responding?

Anytime we're waiting - for the checkout person to ring us up, for the doctor's office to call, for a friend who has hurt us to apologize - we can remember we're alive right now. We can be determined to use this moment as a vehicle for paying attention, for growing, for opening.

Whenever we're pushing against what is, as though if we tried hard enough we could force the tempo of change, we can take a breath. Whatever our vision for how things should be in the future, we can make sure we do the very next thing we need to do today. And whenever we're in a fury of impatient resentment because our companion is walking too slowly or the mail came too late or we're being ignored or we can't concentrate or we can't name what we want - or any of the countless everyday things we find hard, we can remind ourselves of what is good right now. Then, as we work to redress what is wrong, the belligerence, agitation, and frustration will drain out of our "now," and the word can become a declaration of purpose and strength, supported by the gentle, developing power of patience.

I know this is old news, but I thought I would post it again as its such a wonderful thing

Dolphins granted personhood by government of India
Friday, August 09, 2013
by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger
Editor of NaturalNews.com

10900593869?profile=original

(NaturalNews) Dolphins have been granted "non-human personhood" status by the government of India, making India the first nation in the world to recognize the unique intelligence and self-awareness of the cetacean order (a class of aquatic mammals).

The decision was announced by India's Minister of the Environment and Forests which also outlawed captive dolphin shows. The ministry added that dolphins "should have their own specific rights." (SOURCE)

Dolphins are extremely intelligent mammals with a highly-developed social structure. Recent research shows that dolphins call each other by name and can remember the unique name whistles from old "friends" heard just one time 20 years ago.

Dolphins choose their own unique name -- a series of complex whistles -- before they reach one year of age. From that point forward, all the other dolphins in their social group call them by that unique name.

Dolphins use highly-complex grammatical communications

Previous research has shown that dolphins have human-like self awareness and engage in highly complex communications with other dolphins using grammatical sentence structure. Yes, dolphins have their own complete language, much like humans. (See the Dolphin Communication Project.) The main difference between dolphin language and human language is that dolphins aren't vaccinated as young children and injected with brain-damaging mercury. Therefore, dolphins grow up able to speak in fully coherent sentences while many humans now are cognitively deficient and unable to compose meaningful sentences. (They are literally brain damaged by vaccines, mercury fillings and toxic chemicals in foods, medicines and personal care products. Idiocracy has arrived!)

As this 1999 scientific paper on dolphin communication explains about a dolphin named "Ake:"

...the relation of thematic role to word order were firmly incorporated into Ake's concepts of the grammar of the language, strongly suggesting knowledge of argument number. Overall, this set of findings underscores the robustnesss of comprehension by Ake of her learned language... [the test] required an understanding of grammatical and semantic relations and of pragmatic issues deriving from the link between thematic role and syntactic position.

Ake, in other words, is grammatically smarter than many adult humans as is evidenced by the fact that many human beings no longer have any ability to parse meaningful concepts from language and instead are nothing more than "hypnosis subjects" who punch chads at the voting booths and live on Cheetos and Gatorade.

Why I support the "personhood" of cetaceans

Let the record show that I fully support non-human personhood status for dolphins and other cetaceans (whales, dolphins, purpoises). The idea of violently kidnapping these intelligent mammals from their wild habitat and forcing them to engage in parlor tricks for an audience of sunburned, nutrient-depleted vaccine-damaged ice cream-licking over-medicated drooling human children is wildly offensive to all intelligent beings (meaning the dolphins).

It would be far more appropriate to tow a raft full of these "flotation device" human junk food slurpers into the ocean and let a group of intelligent dolphins observe them performing stupid human tricks for Pop-Tarts and aspartame-laced diet soda.

See some of these stupid human tricks for yourself in these videos:

"Woman spits out gum and sucks it back in"

I'm sure any dolphin would pay good money to watch a few more. Perhaps they will kidnap human children off the street and force them to live on island cages in the middle of the ocean where they have to endlessly perform stupid human tricks with no hope of ever escaping their maddening confinement.

Yes, this part of the article is pure satire. (Any dolphin would have already known that.)

And yes, I have far more faith in the intelligence of dolphins than I do the intelligence of humanity. Dolphins, after all, don't build nuclear bombs, radioactive power plants or GMOs, and they sure don't inject their own children with mercury and genetic fragments from diseased animals. Only humans are stupid enough to do that.

Every animal on the planet instinctively protects its young... except humans. Human mothers actually turn their children over to insane doctors who inject them with methyl mercury (vaccines), an extremely toxic brain poison that "lobotomizes" human brains and turns brilliant children into low-IQ future slave workers.

Perhaps one day human scientists will finally be able to talk with dolphins. If so, I'm sure one of the first questions we'll be asked by them is, "Why do you brain damage your own children and call it medicine?"

This is a' WaterShed Moment' in Human History

Dolphin Brains are as Big as Human Brains & as Convoluted as a Human
The Convolutions ( Folds ) increase the Surface area of the Brain
The Unfolded Human Brain Area is the Size of a Pillow Case
The Sperm Whale Brain is 9 times Bigger than a Human Brain
Dolphin & Whale Skeleton is VERY Similar to the Human Skeleton
Dolphins & Whales have the same Hand Bone Structure as a Human -

The Huge Dinasors ( the size of Whales ) had Walnut Sized Brains & that
was all the Brain that was Needed to Function as a Large Animal

Yahoo News UK/CATERS - Stephen's stunning snaps show Durdle Door beneath the starry sky. (STEPHEN BANKS / CATERS)

With the natural wonder of Durdle Door lit up against the stunning starry sky, these are no ordinary beachside snaps.

Astro photographer Stephen Banks captured the stunning rock archway backdropped against the star-filled 'gateway to the Milky Way' in Dorset.

By setting his camera to a 30-second exposure time, and using a bright LED torch to illuminate the arch, the 24-year-old snatched the perfect moment.

His pictures, which he says are unaltered, show the centre of our galaxy as it passed through the rare rock formation of Durdle Door.

Stephen, who works in PR, said: 'I've never captured Durdle Door like this before and I've never seen a picture quite like it.

'I walked along the beach and carefully lined up the light in the distance with the 'door' of the arch.

'I drove through a lot of fog to get to this location, so I was adamant that the evening would be a complete right off. But luckily the fog began to clear as I made the descent down to the beach. Some mist was still present and, in the distance, the lights from a boat lit up the horizon.

10900591492?profile=original Stephen has since been asked to submit his images for the Astronomy Photographer of the Year award. (STEPHEN BANKS …

'With a 30 second exposure, this had the effect of making the lights look like the moon or sun rising, but you can still see the stars in the sky.

'I could quite easily have given up and turned back to Bridport that evening, but I stuck with it and was very pleased that I did.'

Stephen, of Bridport, Dorset, has taken the astronomy photography world by storm - and was asked to enter his pictures for Astronomy Photographer of the Year award.
