The Corpus Hermeticum - The Good As God (5)

Hermes, deliberating on the Universality of Goodness,

declares unto Asclepius what makes God

the sole repository of the Greatest Goodness

that is known to the whole wide world.

Being of an Immaculate Nature,

God's Goodness sets every other good thing

into motion and manages to generate and sustain

an energy or series of divinely inspired emanations

where disproportionate excess is not to be found in even the slightest of degrees.

Present in Its own Completion,

God is not only Good on a routinized basis

but is Good on a Perpetually Eternal Basis.

Unlike the microcosmic heart of every soul

or living thing, God in Its Goodness

never loses what is precious and worth pursuing

and thus does not suffer from the grief of an ordinary heart.

In like manner, God is also immune or superior to

the functions of an unillumined body, mind and soul.

Nothing being able to cause even a tiny amount

of damage to God's Cosmic Body,

God is deemed to be the Wisest and Strongest of Known Spirits.

Free of all the vices which so easily tears apart

even the hardest of ordinary hearts,

this Primordial Substance of All Substances

does not consider Its level of Goodness

to be on an equal level with the level of Goodness

that predominates in the ordinary hearts of the whole wide world.

Matter, being a toned down product of Spirit,

is, unlike Its Creator, endowed with the ability to feel and think

in a way that is not Good to the Good of the All.

Born from passion and out of passion,

everything that lives and breathes is subjected to the vices of passion.

Without tincture, what is Eternally Good cannot Harmoniously Co-Exist

with what is seemingly full of material defects.

Passionate at one moment and good the next,

an ordinary heart is insufficient to be called Eternally Good or Eternally Knowledgeable.

Existing only in the Infinite in Its Completely Pure Form,

Goodness often descends in minute degrees

to those who are Working on Becoming Greater

than the Kings and Queens of the whole wide world.

Though Goodness is present in ordinary hearts

due to the mind Being Shaped by a Moral Consciousness,

the level of Goodness that is known throughout the whole wide world

is but a Spark of the Sum Totality of the Goodness of God.

Mixing Goodness with passion,

the passionate think that what is Good

is merely the Balance of Its Opposite, which is vice.

Substituting Goodness for vice and vice for Goodness,

the passionate are enshrouded by a faulty and illusory

conception of the Good and the Great.

Dominated by the circling moods of misery

and mere speculative opinions,

the passionate are ever ready to regard what

is lamentable and despicable as being more than Worshipable.

Long are the days of mere speculation,

but short are the days of those who do not give

into the byproducts of an unfiltered mind and heart,

for the initiated are wholly conversant with the Macrocosmic Vision of Goodness.

Loved by God, the initiated see the Beauty of God

and the Goodness of God in Everything

that is large and small or significant and insignificant.

Inseparable from the Vast Luminosity of God,

the Beauty of Goodness and the Goodness of Beauty

Makes those who Understand God

Understand the Highest and Most Sublime Degree of Beauty and Goodness.

Approaching the Nameless One

with the Reverence that is Innately Imbued in Knowledge,

the Goodness of God is not so easily confused

and exchanged for the Goodness of the whole wide world.
