Always trying to control the Way
is not as good as allowing the Way to guide
and inspire the Essential Nature of the Tao.
Calculated intelligence is insincere
and incapable of being maintained for long.
Though the luxuries of the earth
fill all homes, nothing remains that can be kept.
When the wealthy elitists are proud,
their future legacy is doubtful.
When work is done with selfless nobility,
the Way of Heaven is Known.
