Worries and sicknesses are the combined phenomena
arising from all of your learnings.
How distant is a yes from a no?
How distant is good from bad?
What scares people is scary
only to people and to no one else.
Wild are they who do not recognize
the simplicity of being centered in the Tao.
Most celebrate with the frenzy of a springtime awakening
and with the festive feelings of countless cyclical turnings of the wheel of time.
I alone am withdrawn and like an infant
who is not yet awake to the world.
Nowhere to go,
I am free to be who I am.
While most people carry a great burden within them,
I alone am missing nothing although I have not one thing.
My mind, in its primordial stupidity,
is as simple as the unadulterated mountains and skies.
The ordinary want to shine
and I alone want to be alone in all respects.
The ordinary want to alert others of their presence
and I alone want to be as unnoticeable
as the stars above the stars.
Calm like the ocean's fathomless being
and anchored nowhere in particular,
I alone seek the vitalizing life force of the Tao.
The greatest of virtues is to follow the Way.
As an object, the Way is as abstract and elusive
as the infinity of darkness and light.
Everything is in the Way
yet nothing can be pin pointed as being the Way.
Its life force is more real
than reality and its truth
is more true than what is commonly said to be the truth.
From the ancient and far past to this day,
its beauty is unheard of even though everything is beautiful.
How does its beauty make itself known?
By being beautiful beyond convention.
