Reviewing the battlefield of his mind,
Arjuna worries over
not being able to fulfill
the Transcendental Task
that Bhagavan Sri Krishna Ordered him to take on.
Weary and weakened over having to endure
the death of many of his illusions,
Arjuna gives over his life to the Self
that Perpetually Animates his being.
Awaiting for the next movement of duality
within the gate of his heart,
Arjuna looks up to the Supersoul
that Shines Within the Face of Bhagavan Sri Krishna.
Living in this world
as the Supreme Renunciate,
Bhagavan Sri Krishna recommends to Arjuna
to regard everything that happens
to the world externally
and to all living souls internally
as a product of the material senses
and gross intelligence of the human mind.
Under the control of the five senses,
a living soul loses hold of
the ability to discriminate
between what is temporary and what is eternal.
Bewildered by the gross intelligence
of the human mind,
those who are desirous of being My disciple
must learn to tolerate the various urges
that are connected to the base survival of the physical body.
Becoming indifferent to the mechanisms
of the unrestrained senses,
the sage is required to overcome
the need to express his or her anger,
impatience and dualistic nature in general.
Climbing the ladder of Self-Realization,
o Arjuna, do not forget to meditate
on how it is possible
to defeat the armies of dualistic thoughts
and dualisitic emotions
as they arise within and without
the perimeter of My Inferior Energies.
Controlled and inwardly contented
by Superior Knowledge of Me,
stabilize the awareness
of how everything is the Same.
Graced by a Vision of Unity,
the sage perceives what is
of an Inferior Nature to be Equal to that which is Transcendent.
Not breaking your concentration on Me,
My Divine Guidance
will permit you to relish My Superior Energies at all times.
Whether busily engaged in the world of the senses
or in the midst of this conflict or that conflict,
take to My Lotus Feet
and forget about what the populations
say about your Duty as My Servant.
Offering everything that you do
to Me,
Mighty-Hearted Arjuna,
renounce duality altogether
and become an active exponent
of the Tranquility that is brought about by Equanimity.

Comment by Julian Colgan on August 3, 2012 at 3:25pm The moment of initiation is when you see Krishna within your own heart and do not run away from the Light that is Krishna Prema. Wholly embracing what has always been within you since the moment of Eternal Reciprocation, move forward with what you have discovered and share this internal wealth with others since Love of God is something that millions of persons can only taste at the moment of death. Instead of being at odds with your internal nature, let go of the past speculations of the past and the past relationships with material entities for there is no life except in the Eternal Life of Devotional Mellows in relation to Godhead. Having surpassed the death of the false ego, expand your Consciousness until it re-becomes what it was like at the moment of initiation.

Comment by Julian Colgan on August 3, 2012 at 8:07pm As a Cosmic Effect of a Primeval Cause, the soul surpasses the stages of lesser effects such as birth, growth, disease and death. Being above the three gunas of material nature (mind, emotions, body) even while anchored in the physical, the soul discriminates between what is of the world and what is of God through the ability to consciously remember who and what it is in relation to its Ultimate Source. In the case of Vaishnavism, there is a process or method to inducing this state of consciousness while still alive and one of the primary approaches is to render devotional service to one's Ideal on a daily basis. This can take the form of reading scriptures or uplifting material and it can also be done through listening to the essence of one's own thoughts and feelings. As Ramana Maharshi would always say - Who Am I? By continuously redirecting one's attention to one's real identity or soul nature, gradually or immediately one can directly perceive that which is eternal and see how it is non-different from the world we live in now. Everything being an expansion or continuation of God's various energies or potencies/attributes, everything can remind one of oneself or Brahman. In the Bhagavad Gita there is a verse which summarizes all of this: "Those whose minds are established in sameness and equanimity have already conquered the conditions of birth and death. They are flawless like Brahman, and thus they are already situated in Brahman."
